I've always wondered if they could make a constant light that was as bright as a camera flash and take video to make sure it's just dust and not some thing else... because i'll tell ya, i was skating in our touns church skatepark and my dad took a picture of me doing a shove-it to BS-boardSlide and my hand is high in the air and there is this HUGE blue see-through orb by my hand and it's the size of me almost and it's cool because it looks like i'm holding a planet!

Oh God it's 2007 and people are still wondering if there are such things as ghosts.

Well apparently they can. Though ignore the flash bit - it's a red herring. The important bit is out of focus. A lens will blur a tiny airborne particle that is out of focus. The resulting artifact is what tiny out of focus stuff looks like once it's been mangled by your lens glass and aperture. Obviously a light source helps make things shiny - but you can get out of focus tiny floating stuff with just the light that's there in the environment.
