ah, so you mean you didn't play it at all to have any sense of the story. half an hour - if it has been crashing for half an hour, that would be something to write about. and the "story" is a little dynamic, it will not necessarily happen to you like this, the overall plot is the same though.

It's not that bad at all, but just burn through the main quest - don't waste your time on all the tapes and other bullshit filler. Some quests for the gun trader are worth it if you want all the kit, but they are really the only non main-quest avenue worth exploring (when I say exploring I mean follow the convoy dot on your map and blow it up with an RPG).

It's bullshit anyway as far as permadeath is concerned - it's more like a visual playthrough. He says it is his first time with a Stalker game and even though it is on easy, he has somehow managed to:
* Avoid death completely despite anomalies, etc
* Survive a bunch of set-pieces
* Get to Jupiter
* Own the Chimera first time, not to mention every other mutant
* Make it across the minefield, knowing that he should throw bolts at the ground ahead of him
All of this without dying or the temptation to reload? I doubt it. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt (

There are no insta-death anomalies, they're only in the fields, and he's playing on Easy.
