I replaced it with the one from the mod. But then didn't change anything in it. Oh is there something about the true/false parameter thingies?

If you replaced it with the mod one, it should work. Basically, you need to have this line:
$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\
If it's double true, it should be okay.
You're running the russian version, right?

checked, it's double true, but i'm running the swiss/german version. so this miiiiight be the reason. :rolleyes::D

The patch installs the files to /gamedata/config/text/rus/
Try changing the directory to /ger/ or /german/ or even /eng/, god knows how they did it
