Wait, did I misread his post or did thefonz just call Michael Bay a cinematic genius?
:erm:

Michael Bay seems to be commendably dedicated to accelerating the heat-death of the universe, at least.
He's still a cunt.

Yes.

Oh, cock.
Pearl Harbour though, FUCK YOU BAY
Armageddon was meh, haven't seen any of his others

Cinematic is what I meant.
Come on - that ending??? The whole game is like a huge film - granted, its a Michael Bay qualty action explosive; but damn if I didn't have a ton of fun playing it.
I stand by Cinematic Genius because no other game I've ever played has come close to what Modern Warfare offers.
Michael Bay-esque action = cinematic genius?! But I suppose that's unsurprising considering that you blew your load over (
http://16bitgeek.com/transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen/) one of the worst films of the year.
CoD4's awful plot felt precisely like a schlocky season of 24. Deactivating
the warheads mere seconds before they reach their targets; blowing away the cartoonish 80's action film
Russian baddy with Cpt. Price's pistol.
Oh God, the opening credits featuring Middle Eastern Country X's president on his way to be executed by the coup was utterly dreadful. My eyes rolled into the back of my skull. Road side executions of innocent civilians accompanied by mournful music? Oh please.
About the only scene that was worthy of praise was
the death of the US Marine protagonist. That was inspired and poignant. Not that I can care one iota for a Gordon Freeman-esque blank slate protagonist, but what can ya do.
To be fair though the unfairly placed camping guards in the last few corridors of Zacheav's bunker had drained my the last of any enthusiasm that I had for the game on my first playthrough on Hardened. Also the totally gamey on-rails vehicle sequence with the respawning enemy trucks went a long way in destroying immersion. The game was a lot more fun when I replayed it on Normal difficulty, but far shorter.

If you're try to discredit someone's opinion, use something which is actually rubbish. One of the accomplished works of its respective medium doesn't quite work, now does it? Nice try though.
If you actually believe that the overall plot, setting and silly symbolism for the sake of symbolism matter at all, then you're sorely missing the point.
