The last two posts are why I love TTLG.
You're aviation kind of man?
[Edit] And it seems I missed the memo that TTLG loves CoD4. Now where did that come from?

I always thought that airplane pic was sorely missing the sound effect to go along with it.
Also, more Infinity Ward is a good thing. Period.

I totally read that as denisv picking out the "a sequel" bit and being all "no it's not" and I was all "wait... what? It's got a number in it... what kind of game is he playing," but NOPE, just read wrong.
In other news, I though I had heard some rumour that CoD5 was to be in the FUTURE or something, keep on mixing things up, but I guess they haven't fully mined the modern theatre of battle yet. Even so, should be good.

Nah, that was Andarthiel's ramblings in the other thread. Futuristic CoD would be a horrible idea, full stop.

What exactly is so great about Infinity Ward, anyway? The main complaints I've been hearing about CoD5 were the stupid respawn stopping invisible tripwires and scripting out the wazoo, but CoD4 pulls that shit the whole game.

So because of one poorly-executed game you condemn an entire idea? Who are you, Koki?

Pew pew laser guns, space travel, bipedal/hover tanks, aliens, etc. would be at a Richard Simmons level of queer. If I wanted to play Unreal, then I'd play frigging Unreal (or Quake 4).
A near-future Crysis or Tom Clancy-esque setting with weapons and the like based on concepts and technology that are in development and/or being prototyped today would more likely have a chance at succeeding.
