Caius gone, no Blades missions done... - by Max_Damage78

I decided that I would start a new game back in March and have been playing it off and on since then. I figured that I would build my character up as much as possible before I started the main story quest. So that's what I've done.
My character who has just passed level 56, has 100 in everything but luck which is at 78 and has amassed more than 3 million gold. I have several complete sets of armor, have finished the main Tribunal and Bloodmoon quests and have managed to become the leader of the Morag Tong, the Fighters guild, the Mages guild and the Thieves guild.
Now I figure that I'm ready to tackle the main story quests.
and Caius is gone.
I spoke to him several times in the past (mainly to power level my speachcraft skill) but never actually started any "duties" for him. I know this, because I was able to find the second Blades quest item "The Skull of Level Andrano" unmoved from it's place in the Andrano tomb.
It's been months (both in game, and in real life) since I've been in Caius' house, but I'm sure that I didn't kill him (and even if I had, would I not have seen one of those "threads of fate" warning boxes telling me to reload a past save game?). So If I didn't kill him, and I haven't done any of his missions, where the hell is he?
I've tried that "ra" trick in the console to reset all the in-game NPC's and saw the "actors reset" dialog after I did it, but he's still not there. Now what?
Is there any way I can spawn him back where he's supposed to be? What if he is "dead" after all (which I swear is not the case), would it still be possible to spawn him in order for me to finnish the quests?
I really don't want to start a new game after all the time and effort I've put into building the character that I have now. Please help me.

Yeah. Go into his house and try:
player-> placeatpc "Caius Cosades" 1 1 1
Or try Caius_Cosades (I'm too lazy to check, but one of those should be right.)

Well, now I know why Caius disappeared. Some tool's plug-in file I downloaded had the "note from Milos" on one of it's shelves and while I was looking around I saw the note, interspersed with dozens of others and read it. This caused the game to "update my journal" and skip me ahead in the plot several missions.
So, now I'm at the point in the game where I need to bust someone out of that prison above Vivic and yet, I have not increased my rank among the Blades and do not have the Corpsus disease/disease immunity that is one of the rewards for finishing the Caius quests.
DAMN IT!!
Is there any way I can undo this, or am I screwed?
I don't want to start a new game, but I will if push comes to shove.

can't you just reload from before you read the note that advanced you?
or maybe... what happens if you uninstall that plug-in?
V***V
PS: what plug-in was that? i wanna make sure i avoid it. :(
PPS: that plug-in musta came with a readme. maybe you could contact the "designer" and find out from him.

This incident happened a few months ago about 2 weeks after I started the game. I keep a running series of saves, but they only go back a week, so I can't undo it.
It was from a plugin called "Your Underground Balmora House Mod" accessible through a trap door on the commercial side of the river. I only used it to make some coin because the author put complete suits of avery kind of armor and weapon in it's storage room. I just looted the place and sold everything I found to the armorer on the "Thera Island" mod.
Anyway, he also put one copy of every book, and parchment in the mod's "library". This includes several land deeds and the aforementioned note from Milos.
I guess the gods of morrowind stung me for using a mod that so horribly unbalances the game, huh? Shh!!! Don't tell them that I looted the "Doob's House" mod as well, or they'll fry me for sure! ;)
Oh well. Looks like I'll have to start another game. :erg: I'll just keep this one for when I feel homicidal :sly: I can go on a killing spree and have fun doing it!

Starting a new game might well be advisable anyway - the main quest isn't designed for level 56 and the quests will be too easy - devoid of tension, atmosphere and excitement.
HOWEVER
The magic of the console will save you again, maybe.
Try
Journal "A2_4_MiloGone" 0
If that doesn't work (and I suspect it won't), you could try and semi-fix it by force starting the first Caius quest in the console
Journal "A1_1_FindSpymaster" 1
That might reset the journal counter so that you've just been told to go and see Caius - he might respond like you've just seen him for the first time when you talk to him. Maybe.

Neither trick worked. Oh well, looks like I'll be starting a new game.
Thanks for all the help guys.

You should probably contact the person who made that mod. and let them know what happened...they might want to remover Milo's note from future versions if it's going to mess the game up like that

I had a similar problem, when I decided to do the main quest, when I went to Cauis for that dwemer puzzle box crap, he gave me some 'oh nooos, go to Divath Fyr for that croprus' Of course I didn't have it as I didn't kill that sixth house fatass, but he was still complaining. Divath Fyr disagreed that I had corprus, so I just fixed myself by giving myself corprus and skipped a bunch of quests from Cauis. Hah, find your own damn puzzle box.
