I've deceided to redo Deus Ex again [SS2's got it's claws into me] only this time as a ninja with all the trimmings to make me a nasty melee guy.
ANYWAY. Beat the statue with killing as few as possible.
You know that troop that pops up to gaurd the general [forgotton his name already. how sad] well I wanted his assault rifle for the hell of it, so I tagged him with a tranq. He didn't go hostile, and he fell unconcious.
Got his gun, off I went.
When I got my next set of orders from manderley, he mentioned at the end 'Do you know what happened to our troop in the tower? He turned up unconcious.'
To which I auto-responded 'I dunno Sir. Friendly fire?'
:laff:

hehehe, funny :D
Thank's for sharing. Again I must say again - there always are some undiscovered things in DX.

LOL! Again, this game doesn't stop to amaze me!

Hmm, another place where DX actually makes a difference between dead and unconscious. Too bad the further you go, the fewer there are...

It makes a difference. Erm. Try the following two things:
(1) KO the maid, throw her out of the window infront of the big bot, and then run around with her on your shoulder for a while.
(2) Blow the maid's head off with your shotgun, throw her out of the window infront of the big bot, and then (try to) run around with her on your shoulder for a while.
Works for other people than the maid as well. :)

Lucius De Beers? Can I thwack him with riot prod through that metal coffin?

He is the Manderley conversation
In this next exchange, Manderley probably suspects that the player killed the UNATCOTroop that was sent to help with the terrorist commander. (The player DID kill him.) But he can't know for certain. Otherwise, the player would have to be arrested and the game would end.
┌JosephManderley By the way, did you see what happened to the soldier we │sent into the statue? He turned up dead.
└JosephManderley By the way, did you see what happened to the soldier we sent into the statue? He turned up unconscious.
JCDenton No, sir. Friendly fire?
JosephManderley Not so friendly, I'm afraid. I have opened an investigation. Dismissed.

Nothing much of interest, but it is worth noting that the difference is one word.

hehe, legend. its the sign of a good game that it adapts to things that arent necessarily "normal", ie shooting your own [us military in iraq not withstanding]

There's so much fun to be had in the first missions. :D
Another one: Kill the NSF Commander.
Manderley: [...] Do you accept my apologies for the situation topside?
JC: A refreshing change from the academy, Sir.
Manderley: The academy, yes... I thought they would teach you discipline there. Never kill a prisoner again without my orders, do you understand?
JC: Yes, Sir.
(I did not look up the exact quote.)
I stopped that playthrough in Hell's Kitchen though, as it began to bore me. But there were a lot of funny reactions already to that point. Another example was Paul, who got QUITE jumpy because I had blown up the hostages in the subway station.
But I will give it another try in a while for sure. ;)

Player kills terrorist commander.
AlexJacobson That's over the line. What did I just tell you? We won already. Report back to base.
PaulDenton You're a complete jackass.
JCDenton I don't understand.
PaulDenton Command wanted to question the leader. He surrendered to you.
JCDenton I asked him some questions. I didn't like his answers.
PaulDenton There's something called protocol. This is a profession, not a sport.
JCDenton I didn't know UNATCO handled the Ambrosia distribution.
PaulDenton Manderley will brief us shortly. UNATCO makes sure the limited supply of vaccine gets to government agencies and key industries.
JCDenton It's good to finally see some action.
PaulDenton Yeah, well, get your ass inside. The briefing will be in Manderley's office, Level 2.
JosephManderley The academy, yes. I thought they were teaching you discipline there. Don't ever kill a prisoner against my orders again. Clear?
JCDenton Clear, sir.
Fun, fun.
The flag for killing the commander after he surrenders is called PlayerIsAnAsshole.
My favorite line after JC does bad stuff is:
JosephManderley I don't even want to know what happened in the bar. We'll take the heat off you -- this time.
JCDenton Yes, sir. I can explain...
JosephManderley But that will NEVER happened again. NEVER kill a civilian unless you are ordered to do so.
JCDenton Yes, sir.
JosephManderley All right. Now get moving.
Note he doesn't say never kill a civilian, just never kill one if he doesn't give the say so. Gives you some insight into UNATCO.
