i want to make a bow that will keep those pesky, fast victims in place while i plug 'em with arrows, so does burden do a better job of over encumbering something or will strength really take the maximum encumberance of someone down a notch (besides taking away the other lil nice bonuses strength gives you)?
or if you have a better idea for enchanting a bow lemme know (got bonemould longbow, which i beleive has most enchantment points...beleive...beleive....mmmm....beets)

Paralyze could do the same thing... Since you just want to freeze them in place, look for the cheaper of the three (which freezes them for the longest) out of Paralyze, Burden and Drain Strength.
If they're all equal, go for paralyze. You don't know the strength/burden of the monsters your fighting, so you might not be able to freeze all of them in place.

For a really cheap solution, you can slow people right down with Levitate 0 pts for x seconds :D

I forgot all about that! Heh. Well you could do that. And since it's cheap you can easily make it a Target spell so you can blast 'em from far away.

Yeah, but keep in mind that Drain Strength will work for an infinite amount of time and decreases the enemy's attacks, whereas paralyze, levitate, and burden have a set time limit. Besides... if you have a ranged weapon, why not just kill the fuckers?
Myoldnamebroke on 22/6/2003 at 21:39
I think that's why Drain Strength is inappropriate - he just wants to slow them down for a bit to make them easier to kill :D
