Urgh, now I'm torn. The gameplay looks really fun. The voice acting/writing makes large parts of me die. Suddenly it's gone from being Painkiller with cool special moves, to first-person Gears of Snore.
Compared to that video, Gears of War is classic literature.

Did painkiller have good writing?
also:
Painkiller has good gameplay, this has good gameplay, things are how they should be.
The difference is that Painkiller confined it's wooden, 2-D excuse for a storyline to skippable cutscenes; it knew to shut the hell up when the game part was happening.
Dialogue like that invading my earspace while I'm trying to play is very possibly enough to put me off the whole game. Unless there's a separate dialogue volume slider...

Terrible script aside it looks like epic fun.

It's like they hired the dialogue writers for Far Cry. And paid them less. A whole lot less.
Still, +1 to the voice actor for delivering those lines with such conviction. I'd've died laughing if I had to read stuff like that aloud. However, I think can ignore most of it and even chuckle at the nonsensical exchanges while electro-grappling people and kicking them into flaming spiked electrified death while trying to escape from giant rolling ferris wheels by hitching a ride on a train.
It's like Duke Nukem through a Polish lens. I wouldn't miss it for anything.

what
are people seriously complaining about a painkiller spiritual sequel not having a gripping plot?
well it's nice to know some things never change

Nope, couldn't give a shit about the plot - it's the in-your-face verbal diarrhoea immature frat-boy dialogue that grates. Which also grated when it happened to Painkiller (did Overdose benefit from cheesy player dialogue?)
Welcome back btw!

This looks to me like a cross between Prey and Painkiller, which I find very approvable.
Ignoring the writing (what's the big deal with it, anyway?), what was more distracting is the voice actor from the english dub of Spike from Cowboy Bebop, and about a million other things.

Painkiller was a console corridor shooter, too. Just FYI.
