So lessee, Painkiller was shit, Dreamkiller was shit, that WW2 version of Painkiller I don't even remember the name of was shit, so the obvious move is to make another game using the same shitty formula.

WHy are you so fucking negative? I liked Painkiller, and I can't WAIT for this game. God, the next year or so is so full of win for PC gaming.

In my experience, pretty much anyone who's into FPSs loved Painkiller. So Koki's just being a contrarian moron again.

Enter room, kill 500 enemies spawning all around you, next room. Shit's more primitive than Doom, jesus. Then again you loved Fallout 3 so why do I even bother, you wouldn't know a good game if it raped you in the eye.

Way to miss the point Koki. Doom was a simple formula - kill baddies, reach checkpoint. Painkiller did the same perfectly-refined action thing but added spectacular atmosphere and art direction. If you go into Painkiller expecting complex strategy and storytelling, you're playing the wrong game. It's about twitch reflexes in a pretty environment.
Complaining about Painkiller being primitive is basically the same as complaining that System Shock is complicated.
Koki on 26/5/2010 at 10:40
1) Painkiller didn't have any atmosphere at all
2) Painkiller didn't barely had any art direction at all
3) Doom didn't have "perfectly refined action", it was just simple because both hardware and the genre were simple back then
4) And yet Doom STILL is better than Painkiller in every way: it has better/more/longer levels, it has better/more enemies, it has better/more weapons, it has better control, it has better/more power ups, and it even has better music which doesn't cause you to die because you can't hear the fifty melee baddies game spawned out of thin air behind your back.

Come on guys why are you feeding this troll?
Today is the first time I'll ever be putting anyone on ignore and I'm not saying it out of some hissy fit but because I'm just tired of this guy's bullshit. I'd advise you to all do the same but of course it's up to you. This nonsense will continue ad nauseum.

I find the "ignore" function the most important feature to use on GenGaming. It makes reading threads that only consist of posters patching themselves on the back or making fun of others instead of saying something related to the topic a sea of ignores with a little info sprinkled in now and then. And then when I see some ignored being quoted in another post: COMEDY gold. especially the constant dickholding and waving - you know - manly men style in case someone could have the wrong impression. the I AM and YOU ARE replies. they're just kids.

Is that why you never answer me mothra :(
I've only got one person on ignore and he doesn't seem to post much any more, thankfully.
