Duty Calls-- demonstrating once again that death is easy, but comedy is hard.

YESSSS, a remaster is likely coming to PC in 2017! GFWL rot in hell!
Quote:
A submission from the Brazil Advisory Ratings Board has surfaced, which points to the existence of Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition - a remastered version of the 2011 first-person shooter. The remaster will allegedly come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017.
Borderlands and Battleborn developer Gearbox is listed as the game's publisher. It was originally published by EA when it was released. Developer People Can Fly completed a buyout of Epic's interest in the studio in June 2015, giving them independent status and full ownership over the Bulletstorm IP.
Gearbox haven't commented on their involvement. We'll keep you updated if they do.

Gave this a shot a while ago and ... Run and jump both on Space? God no.
Sulphur on 16/10/2016 at 08:57
You can jump?
Anyway, it's a great game. I'd make a disclaimer for the language, but the cursing is so hilariously stupid, it's part of what makes it great. The gameplay along with its whole skillshot conceit is pretty compelling, too, so this is really a dumb AAA game made by clever people. It's also still one of the best-looking UE3 games ever made.

It was climb, not jump, I misremembered.
Hmm. I might give it a second chance later, but it does seem to be quite a bad PC port. I don't think you could even use the mouse in menus ffs.
Sulphur on 19/10/2016 at 15:03
Yep, that's pretty much not a problem for the entire game since most of the time you're going to be using it to rocket through the scenery and kick people off things or into other things, not climb. It's a very decent port past the menu stupidity (I think they fixed that, though: I don't recall having that problem when I replayed it earlier this year), it's just also shackled with GfWL, which is one hurdle too many for most.
Neb on 19/10/2016 at 16:12
Wait, they actually fixed the menu? When I tried to play it last year, nothing I did helped me get past the title screen.
Sulphur on 19/10/2016 at 16:16
You sure that wasn't because you weren't logged into GfWL? The game is DRM'd through it, so it doesn't let you progress past the title screen until you're logged into an account.
Also, I remember the bit about the menus now. You can use the mouse fine in the normal menus, but the dropkit screens where you upgrade your weapons only allow for input through the arrow keys and space, which is a daft oversight even if it's not a major inconvenience.

I spent a long time trying to sort that out, but nothing worked.

Press Home on the title screen and log into your GfWL account. Should still work if it isn't downloading game updates instead. (I know. Isn't GfWL grand? It's a mercy to gamers in general that MS killed it.)
