Painkiller good? Arcade shooters are crap by default, live with it.
Bjossi on 12/2/2011 at 11:24
If that is your best argument then you have no place in a constructive discussion.

Him and constructive discussion? Heh.

Hi, Scott!
Now fuck off, Scott! :thumb:

Let's not respond to him directly, it will just encourage him.

I agree with Scott. The only game I've seen worthy of my time recently has been Robert Wojciechowski's Chess For Freethinking Humans. Everything else has been...heh...beneath me.
Bulletstorm? Pshaw, I say. Arcade shooters, you bleet? PSHAW!

Painkiller was awesome because it had like a gun that shoots lighting. 10/10 goty

Painkiller influenced a whole era of FPS games and that influence still continues today. The Stake gun, or whatever it was called. Nobody was pinning enemies to walls with giant rods of impalement before painkiller. The Sacred cow FEAR copied it, and a dozen others. Arcade shooter is a great descriptor for Painkiller and i don't see how that makes it a bad game.
I just finished downloading the bulletstorm demo on my PS3. I'll post my thoughts.

Arcade shooters are only bad if...
A. The genre honestly doesn't appeal to you
B. The genre doesn't appeal to you because you can't use it as an example of your exquisitely refined and intelligent taste in entertainment.
If you fall under A, well that's understandable. There is no one thing universally liked by everyone. If you happen to fall under B, then SHUT UP SCOTT WEILAND AND ALSO KOKI I WISH YOUR MOM PAID MORE ATTENTION TO YOU WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH YOU NOW!
Also the stake gun makes Painkiller game of the century.
