Building your own stronghold... - by MetroidBlaster

I have searched High and low for info on this all across the internet, and found nothing...which is why I am posting this question here: Hopefully, someone will know the answer.
I have allready built my stronghold (Morrowind: the elderscrolls 3, pc version) to the second stage: the one where a wall is built around the manor, with a guard tower. I have cured the blighted kwama queen in the mine on my property, AND recruited some minors. Now that you know my situation, I ask my questions:
1. The guy you go to in Balmora originaly to start the whole thing told me that my mine should provide me with "steady income". Is this LITTERALLY true? Do I actually earn gold that I can spend, or is it just figurative?
2. How do I get the same guy in Balmora to begin building a stronghold "fit for a councillor"? Am I supposed to move up in the ranks, or what?
3. This stronghold is gotten through the great house Hallalu. Can you get strongholds from Tellvanni and/or Redoran as well?
lastly, I must appologize if I am posting this question in the wrong place. I understand that a lot of forums have rules about that stuff, but I am desperate, and short on time, so forgive me If I have broken the rules in my ignorance, as this is my first post on this forum...

It's just figurative. The 'extra income' he talks about only enables your stronghold to become larger and employ more staff. Although by the time you have got this far in the game, you probably already have enough money to buy the whole damn island.

Yes. By completing quests and getting further along the main quest.

Yes, there are three different strongholds you can get, depending on which of the three houses you ally yourself to. Obviously, Hlaalu is the best :p

Well, that's what moderators are for. It's not like they do anything else... ;)

2. Umm...main quest usaully refers to the MW main quest which you need not start to get a better stronghold. And you need the rank of councilman (obviously) to get the last stage of stronghold.
3. You can only ally yourself with one of the great houses (unless you get the mod which lets you do all 3) and so only get 1 on the strongholds in a game, though the other strongholds to get built so you can kill the other residients and take their house; I am pretty sure you get asked to do as such later on.

Too lazy to read the other two posts, heh. But if you have the PC version, I'd skip the stronghold. They aren't that good. The other two (Redoran and Telvanni) are pretty out of the way, none provide adequate storage, and it costs you money.
I'd download a house mod (I like 'A good place to stay' ) or even build my own in the Construction Set. Just making a house is pretty easy, and you'd have a lot of fun doing it. Completely customizable. :thumb:
