I dont know how to feel about the new thief. One one hand, it does seem to be a fairly entertaining game in its own right.... But Its not "Thief". And that bothers me. I got alot of emotional attachment to the thief games, and its frustrating to see the series being obviously used to get a slice of the Dishonoured/Assassins creed fanbase.

That's something that I'll never be able to wrap my head around: being emotionally attached to a game. Kinda scary, and can be equated to having some "emotional attachment" to a red-head one sees on the street each day, then losing one's shit when she changes her hair color. So she changed her hair color...big deal...doesn't mean go out and scalp her and keep her locked in the basement because she let you down.
(...though the Bitch does deserve to burn. You know she does. And she'll like it.)

Queue, you heartless bastard. You can't tell me there aren't a few movies or CDs or whatever that hold a special little place in your world somewhere.

Woa easy with the strawman arguments. You make me look like some crazy person just because I said the Thief games were special to me. Special in a "i really digged the atmosphere and gameplay" not "i have a shrine dedicated to stephen russel in my basement and spent most of my waking hours jerking off to screenshots of thief"
People can have emotional attachments to things without being weird about it. Geez, grow up will ya!

Yes. But I keep them behind a brick wall.

I thought you said you were emotionally attached to them? People are, you know. Besides, mine was more of a 'Wickerman' statement than a 'strawman' argument. What in the hell does that even mean?

Yeah, I think we've hit our quota for the year on the term "strawman" in this forum.

Yeah but comparing someone who has an emotional attachment to a game, to a psychotic stalker with a ginger obsession is the very
definition of a strawman argument. Crikey these forums sure have gotten serious over the past few years in my abscence.

Calling someone a ginger is not nice.
(My daughter is a ginger...and we prefer 'Devil's Spawn')

I think the Strawman deal is a U.K. thing, because I never hear people over here using it in regular conversations. It's also just one of those cool things to say in an argument, kind of like Ad Hominem.
Don't worry neecap, no one's getting too serious, it's just that Queue can be a bit weird sometimes.

Why am I not surprised? Have you ever made a serious post, Queue? In living memory that is?
What do you mean by 'sometimes', Brethren. :)
I've only ever heard the term 'strawman' here.
