When I've finished the main quest and exited to the outside, it's always been clear skies and usually night. I guess I've been lucky. Anyway, glad to hear it worked out for you, Hanse.
BTW, some great ideas you guys gave me here. The only time I 'captured' a resident for my amusement was that sphere centurion given to you for helping Baladas. Got him all the way to my Stronghold and teleported out to strand him there. I called him Shockie.:)
Never really got into the magic use enough to capture others.
