There's something very wrong with the search function when you include a username.
Go to the search page, select the "General Gaming (Archive)" forum and enter "Omikron" as the search term, and run the search. There are a number of theads displayed, some of which I posted to, and one of which I started.
Now go back to the search screen and add "Shadowcat" as the username to search for, and re-run the search.
No results found.

I'm sure this has to do with the fact that during the import from UBB, in 99% of the posts in the archives the posters were not recognized as registered members (if you look through them, just about every post is by a "guest", even though that same person is recognized elsewhere as a member). I never figured out why that happened, nor have I come up with a way to fix it (and I have tried).
(sigh)
Sorry about that.

You're right, it does list me as a guest user. How annoying :/
Is it feasible to edit the search page to put a wee note to that effect underneath the "Exact/Partial" radio buttons under the username entry field? I'm sure that would prevent anyone getting caught out by this.
I almost gave up on my search, thinking that my old Omikron post must have disappeared during one of the upgrades, because it didn't occur to me to NOT add my name to the search parameters. It was purely on a whim that I tried it that way.

Good idea...
I added a note to that effect on the search page, take a look. :cheeky:

The engineer in me says: I'd rather have this bug seen <i>fixed</i> instead of <i>managed</i>. It's annoying without end. Can I have a SQL dump of a valid record and a faulty one?
I would actually try to reproduce the fault on my own, but, haha, get this (I was laughing, too), <b>both</b> Infopop and Jelsoft want money from me for trying out their programs!
