You must have mis-entered it. You said you entered the name of the variable, but didn't give it a property. SET DEUSEX.JCDENTONMALE.BCHEATSENABLED TRUE. DON'T FORGET THE TRUE. After that, type "ghost" and walk through the door. Then type "walk".

Erm, i think it's actually 'set DeusEx.JCDentonMale bCheatsEnabled True' No . between JCDentonMale and bCheatsEnabled. I also don't think you need capital letters.
Then you can type 'ghost', fly through the door then type 'walk'. (all cheats have no quotes)

Yeah, it's supposed to stay open. Did you wait and watch it the first time you opened it, making sure it wasn't about to close again? Something somehow might have got in the door track space, preventing the door from moving, and resetting it.

Cool. Well then I'm going to go back and do it again, and make sure it works properly this time. Just so I can keep the game "pure" and uncheated.
Times like this I get worried that I'll get to the end and the game will say "Congratulations! ...but you can't see ending sequence, because you CHEATED!! Go back and do it properly, you cheater!"
Even if I know it won't, it's the principal of the thing :)

I found this forum through Google, since I was suffering the same bug (I recently bought Deus Ex GOTY through Steam Sales).

I found a way to get out of there without cheating,
and I love your attitude towards "pure" gaming,
so I decided to share ;-)
When you
enter through this door, you can see a keypad to the right of the door.
When you are trying to
exit (and the door is blocked),
you can actually access this keypad THROUGH the door,
in the bottom left side corner (see screenshot).
To achieve this, crouch in the middle of the door, and turn left slightly and move your crosshair up and down untill you lock on.
Enter the keycode, and voila, you're out!

Nice job resurrecting a 9 year old thread, but that's a useful solution. I had the same problem once -- ended up loading an older save.

Well, that is awesome. It's rare to find someone who appreciates games this way :) I know if I was making a game (because I am), I could easily put in a sucker-punch ending punishment for cheating, even if for no other reason that to get people talking about it for marketing purposes.
And that is a frigging NINJA solution! I love it!
So, personally I'm glad you "resurrected a 9 year old thread". Brings back memories!
