All 48 dead + one on the ground (the commuter jet hit a house). (

Anyway, what hit me: There was a woman on board whose husband died in the South Tower of the WTC. She was on her way to a family reunion to celebrate what would have been his 58th birthday...:(
Kinda makes me sick to my stomach.

I've been waked up by this news on the radio this morning, sad thing.
One more good argument for Friday 13th believers.

Well, it was 11:00 pm EST Thurday, but close enough I guess.

Wow, I am surprised nobody has replied.

You can't blame people, it is wiser to have a personal moment of silence and move on, if there's nothing meaningful to add.

It's a tragic accident, for sure.
However, what's to say? There's so much death in the news, I'm almost completely apathetic about it :(

Seems that we're suddenly having a rash of aviation accidents. I wonder if the rumor is true that airlines have been cutting back on maintenance.

No maintenance can prevent birds from bringing down a plane.

Was it birds again this time? The article I read didn't say either way.

I wonder, would it be a serious technical issue to protect the turbines by covering them with some kind of safety nets?
