Yeah, everytime you launch the mission with old NVScript, it's a coinflip with regards to whether the scripts will work or not. I've been lucky to not have any issues the first couple times I played it, but then I started having the same issues as Arrowgrab even though nothing in my Thief install changed.

So, my replay brought me to
another issue which looks like script problem, though unrelated to NVScript.
So, second mission, I've just opened the door to the Necropolis. There's a straight corridor where Garrett muses about traps, and sure enough, there is one. As you approach, you see this:

(Sorry, image embedding doesn't work for me on TTLG.)
Now, what
normally happens is that you step on the octagonal tile, a crushing column drops down in front of you, then a few seconds later two rotating spiked horizontal skewers come out of the wall at ankle height, then a few second after
that a second column drops right on top of you, directly above the octagon while the first one rises back into the ceilnig. As I recall, the solution is that you stop exactly on the octagon (which is a pressure plate), crouch, do not move (in order to avoid the skewers), and wait for the plate under your feet to sink deeper. This way, the second column will stop above your head, and
then you can proceed forward. IIRC, that's what happened in previous playthroughs.
Not now, however. What happens is that the first column comes down, the skewers appear, but the octagon does not sink.
Or rather, it sinks a couple of pixels then stops. The failure of the plate to sink means that when the second column comes down, it crushes you because you're too high up. Here's a second screenshot, showing the second column down and the octagon failing to sink:

Now, the isn't the first I've encountered something like this. There's another T2 FM, Into the Odd, where I've encountered something similar. In that FM, you're supposed to step on a pressure plate (or drop a heavy object on it), it will sink, and once it's fully sunk it will trigger something. There, too, the plate only sinks a few pixels for me and then stops. I wrote about it (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150417&page=9) here on July 4, 2020, but nobody there knew how to fix this.
I guess I might be wrong, but I can't help noticing how both FMs display the same behaviour: a pressure plate sinks a tiny bit then stops, instead of sinking all the way. Same computer, same T2 installation. I
guess it might be script-related, but I don't know what script could be causing this. At this point, I'd be grateful for any pointers. I'm not even sure what non-FM-specific tech help thread to post in about this. Any ideas? This bug renders Broken Triad unfinishable, since you absolutely must pass the trap to proceed.

I remember having to press a button to lower that pressure plate first.
Renault on 21/2/2021 at 20:23
Yep, the button is directly above you on the ceiling.
Stingm on 21/2/2021 at 20:34
Yeah make sure you get that button.

When I played this mission a few days ago, nothing happened at this spot, as far as I remember. Most likely, I had the old scripts included with the mission installed, not newer versions of the scripts.
Stingm on 22/2/2021 at 03:07
What difficulty were you playing? That spot don't do anything on normal.
baeuchlein on 22/2/2021 at 13:09
I played on Normal, so that explains that.

Gosh, you know what, you were right!
In my defence, I've last played it years ago, and I
did have a similar bug in another FM, so I guess the two got incorrectly coupled in my head.

I've overwritten NVS script in the fan mission archive and in the game folder as well, but scripts still don't work.
From very beginning when Garret leaves his house there is no mystic corridor with a hammer at the end, and the music not playing.
Please help.
