What about placing the newest scripts in a path which is then put into
cam_mod.ini's
uber_mod_path entry? This should ensure that these scripts always override any older scripts present in any mission.
On the other hand, what would happen in this case if one replaced scripts with newer ones and then plays using saved games made with the older scripts?
I didn't get around to answering this back then but adding scripts to uber_mod_path is a bad idea because it will probably break custom scripts in other missions. Replacing scripts is a good idea in the mission directories themselves if something breaks, but probably not the best idea to make these scripts have the highest priority always.
The best thing to do is just replace the scripts in the Broken Triad directory (and preferably within the mission zip archive itself) with newer ones (see Unna's download link above - (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121515&p=2378455&viewfull=1#post2378455) ) as this will--and I confirmed today--fix the issues with the Hammer segment at the beginning of the 1st mission and other issues people have been having with this mission.
As for loading saved games made with older scripts, who knows. Someone earlier in the thread reported no problem, but since it's not that long a campaign it's probably not that big a deal to start over if something broke. Most people who have script issues with this mission tend to have it break at the very beginning outside your apartment where the Hammer segment doesn't even trigger and you can just walk right into town.

Can't pick up the incense – seems to be a bug?
I can't pick up the incense from the container. I opened up the container with two star gem locks and there are two small piles of incense inside, but they are unfrobbable. without the incense I can't perform the Censer call and raise the bridge : /
And there's another similar issue with one of the secrets:
at the Dawn Plaza found the secret switch that moved the big jackal statue at the center, revelaing some coloured gems, but I can't pick them up either.
Other than that – a fantastic mission, one of the best!

How did you install the mission? There are some old script modules in the FM zip.
Delete
nvscript.osm
script.osm
tnhscript.osm
from the FM folder and put new scripts into the T2 main folder
You can download scripts here
(
http://www.mediafire.com/file/429s0fxwddbp2tr/T2-Scripts_Bundle1.1.zip)
If that doesn't work, post Thief2.log (root folder)
and a savegame.

Thanks for the info, I updated the scripts. Before updating, in the thief2.log there was a line about script.osm not loading. With updated scripts the error msg disappeared.
However the items I mentioned above are still unfrobbable after restarting T2.
Here is my thief2.log and savegame

This is the public script issue. It only works if you restart the mission, since the scriptparams links didn't trigger in the savegame. FrobInert is still on the objects.
I recommend updating Thief 2 to NewDark 1.26, you're still on ND 1.24

If my memory doesn't fail me, incense has a low frob distance, so you have to lean into the container to grab it.

OK, thanks!
marbleman: I tried as close as possible, jumped into the container and crouched down - not frobbable.

My bad then. In my experience, if something is not frobbable in this mission, then everything is not frobbable.

There is a bug in the second mission with the star gems. When you use a star gem it is supposed to disapper from your inventory, but sometimes it does not. So basically you can just pick one and power up all the devices with it. Is it also the problem of custom scripts?
A bug that got into NVScript at some point between the release of Broken Triad and now, so if you're using a newer version than the one it shipped with, this will happen.
I made a hotfix to fix it, available here: (

Thanks, NV. I should also disclose that I have a partially-completed update to Ominous Bequest+Broken Triad as a single campaign, updated for NewDark, and I will be sure to include your hot fix in it once I finally get around to finishing and testing it.
