folks,
I did not know of random effects like changing the location of the oil, or altering the names of codes to open doors (which means they also alter the names of said charcters in the notes & booklets that give you the hint?)
Who would have guessed? I wonder why an author does that? I would have guessed choosing names & locations were very deliberate decisions?
Anyhow, there goes my theory as to the cause; I canNOT thus explain why the game worked perfectly with the new download of the different name (Broken Triad) vs. the earlier download with the different nomenclature (763 Broken Triad).
As to where I downloaded from?
I cannot say with certainty,but because I always choose the 1st extant link, the chances are good I download from thief-thecircle.com. using the TTLG link.
But I cannot be 100% certain...unless of course those are the only folks who name their file 763...

mission 2. i'm do what says in list and call brother reginald. he said that he can make a bridge or something like that but after his speech he don't do anything. it's a bug or what?

Looks like a bug indeed. I've written down that Garrett has to call the priest's ghost, and then the ghost will cast a spell so that Garrett can pass across some gap or abyss. The walkthrough to "Broken Triad" from Ricebug's walkthrough collection (from 2008) says something similar: Call the ghost by dropping incense into a bowl, light it with the Hallowed Candle, then hold the Rosary beads into the smoke. Brother Reginald appears and creates a bridge over the chasm.
I have not played this mission in NewDark, though. No idea whether that is the problem here.

I believe Yandros is working a New Dark version of this mission (and Ominous Bequest too), which indicates that ND has somehow broken these levels.

Strange, I just replayed through Broken Triad with the latest ND three days ago. Didn't have any problems with any of the levels. Brother Reginald appeared, made the bridge of red hammer blocks, and he also worked fine the second time you have to make him appear.

To clarify, I don't know of any breakage in the missions caused by NewDark as of yet, I'm only in the process of updating them and haven't had time to test yet. I agree that it's more likely to happen only sometimes on certain systems, OSes and/or require updated scripts like NVScript.
