Have a problem...
EDIT: solved myself

I'm enjoying the FM immensely, but I ran into a problem just now.
I can't loot anything that is in one of those wall saves any more. For example the one in the beginning in the directors flat worked totally fine but now in the museum his save's contents are unfrobbable from every angle. Same down in the museum's lobby and even for the Mechanist hideout secret near the museum director's flat.
Is that a common issue maybe associated with New dark (V. 1.19) or something? Any help would be much appreciated!

I used to have the same problem as I played this level a few years ago.
My solution was that I copied some of the custom script files from the fan mission zip file into the thief2 directory.

Thanks a lot, will try that out immediately! :)
Edit: Seems that it has worked. I just copied pretty much everything scriptlike into the folder, reinstalled the FM and after opening and closing one of the saves again it worked! Thanks again Garrett!

I'm having a bit of a problem. I can't read some plaques in the mission.(i can't also read the flower card that contains the director's wife name). Must be due to Thief 2 NewDark (using 1.21) cause i didn't had this problem when i played it before (and before the new patches)
Any ideas on how to fix it?

EDIT... I found references to these 2 problems I mention below in the "Part 2 thread" for Broken Triad, so this is not some new bug introduced in New Dark. These 2 glitches apprarently were never patched. Some of us will simply fall through the map in the treasury hallway when turning around and free fall forever. Also, there will be loss of sound from time to time. Foot falls, door pick sounds, etc. go away.
I played this FM years ago and it was really fun and cool. I just replayed it using the new dark and ran into 2 issues.
1. The sound cuts in and out now (just a minor glitch to me)
2. When I solve the treasury lock and go down the ladder, then through the hall past the scarab I fall through the wire frame and fall forever. If I try to get smart and use the medallion to save myself... I die.
As much as I like to see the entire map of the game from below, it is a little disappointing that I fall into limbo just for getting the last secret :joke:
Still a lot of fun, but I had to finish without getting the last loot from the treasury :(
Cheers,
Bjack

Replaying this old gem under NewDark and it seems it isn't working too well for me.
I remember having weird issues with this one when it first launched, like being unable to frob certain things (can't remember) in the museum. I restarted the mission and to my surprise the scary intro sequence with Garrett being sucked into the vortexy thingy played - it didn't do that in my first run.
Now I can't get that sequence to trigger at all and other events seem to follow the same pattern. For exaxmple I can't get the guard to open the door by lighting the lantern.
Will try to manually copy scripts from the zip as an above poster mentions but any ideas on what I might be blatantly missing are welcome!
EDIT: Did just that and restarted the mission and it worked now.

So I'm having a bit of trouble with this most excellent mission.
I am running Win 7 x64 and have Thief 2 patched with TafferPatcher_TMA_212_beta. I had to copy all .osm (script files?) from my Broken Triad FM folder into my main Thief 2 folder PLUS add the latest NVScript123 file into the Thief 2 folder, overriding the NVScript.osm file found in the Broken Triad FM folder. I load up the game using the build-in loader (FMSel 1.1.1) and everything has worked fantastic, up to this point.
When trying to get the
chalice at the cathedral I cannot get the switches that turn the statues around to work properly. For example, I come into the room and all switches are in the up position. The statues clockwise from left to right are (A)way, (A)way, (A)way, (T)owards. So I hit switch one on the far left and statues 2 and 4 spin, so now they are facing A,T,A,A. Now I hit switch two and only statue 3 moves to towards position, when according the the walkthrough, switch two should change statues 2,3,4. Basically all the statues are only able to turn once, and then all the switches no longer work.I have tried re-loading an earlier save but get the same problem.
Is there a way to fix this so I can continue this amazing mission? Perhaps an updated script file? A way to edit the inventory so I already have the chalice? A save point that already has the chalice?
Any help is much appriciated. I've been away from the Thief world for years and am just starting to get back into it.
EDIT: I uninstalled the FM, installed and uninstalled a different FM, then re-installed Broken Triad. My saves still worked and my problem mysteriously vanished. Builder be praised!
EDIT 2: Still had issues with reading some signs, found out about the fix located (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133683) here and now all is well again. Who would have thought trying to play Thief again after 10 years would be so taffing hard?

I replayed this flawlessly with NewDark loading it in with FMsel so I'm guessing it's some kind of file conflicts or issues related to files that people are having.

I had to do this as well, and it seems to completely fix the problem.
If you are on Vista/7 you should probably just apply this fix before playing this FM. It seems completely random whether NVScript will fail or not.
The list of problems I've run into with this FM before doing that:
-the event outside the apartment at the start not playing
-the demon wouldn't appear in the apartment
-the blanket in the apartment would not be frobbable
-the clocktower door being unfrobbable (behind the grate)
-mission 2 would not start at all
At least one of those things would happen per run, before applying the above fix. I assume all of these things are NVScript related.
