It looks like I am posting about a possibly broken quest again that has occured to me. I am doing the Mages' Guild Quests, and am currently trying to solve the vampire and the vampire hunters problem for Count Hassildor of the Skingrad.
Now, I have first gone to Eridor and basically got all the information from him, and I told him where the vampires were. Since nothing happened right away, I went and disposed of the vampires myself. The game informed me that I should now deal with the hunters, therefore I returned to Eridor to tell him he has nothing to do. However, I cannot seem to do this because I only get the "I have some questions for you" and the "Nevermind" option when I try to speak with him. I tried to wait for hours, for days, but nothing makes them leave the town.
Do you think there some way for me to trigger the quest to proceed or am my only two options to either kill the hunters, or to go back to a saved game and repeat more than two hours' worth of gameplay?

If you're patient the hunters will eventually go to the cave. I went to the cave and waited outside for them, then followed them as they fought their way through and looted the corpses. The vamps won the fight, and I just had to do a little mopping up.

It was of no use. Those hunters wouldn't move from the Inn - patrol - Inn routine no matter how long I'd wait (and this includes both standing on a rock near the cave's entrance as well as waiting for hours via the interface).
I reloaded a previous save position, redid the quest before this one, then, after talking to the count, went straight to the cave to clean it of the vampires, after that I told the main vampire hunter the vampires were gone, showed him the vampire dust, and got the "vampire hunters have left the city" as soon as my dialogue ended.
This will teach me to not only rely on the quicksaves and autosaves, but to make a save before starting each quest as well.

I'm stuck where you are to, but I've managed to knock off two hunters so far.
One goes for a walk outside from Skingaard far away enough for the guards not to see you kill him.
If you cast a frenzy spell on the black guy he will try to attack you and you can kill him without getting the guards on you.
The others I plan to sneak in their rooms at night when they sleep.
