British Secret Service get knickers in twist whilst chewing on some hypocrisps - by SubJeff

Yeah so its all in the news everywhere about this Dubia hit on some Hamas goblin.
And now the British Secret Service is threatening to sever intelligence sharing with Mossad if its proved that Mossad were behind it and thus used existing British passport holder's identities as cover.
Christ.
Get over if ffs. Its not like the Brits have never issued fake passports to spies (I've seen all the James Bond films dammit!!) and besides, doesn't this smack of a smokescreen for important domestic mess ups oh wait. Ah hah hahahah what's this about MI5 and torture? Yeah, I'd like to hear about that, not about some supposed Mossad hit which you know is par for the course for them anyway. Besides, you need that info from Mossad, and its only going to get to them the other way through the CIA anyhow.

Fake passports are understandable but when they are clones of genuine passports there's a risk of innocent people being extradited. And since some countries have a very poor record when it comes to the presumption of innocence, I think it's well worth getting those knickers in a twist.

I'm sure you'd have your knickers in an indignant twist wanting some answers if it was
your passport that had been cloned.
I can't see MI5 responding with "So?" going down a treat either.

I imagine that what they're calling "severing their ties" is going to amount to having seperate company picnics this year instead of combining them. It's an intelligence agency FFS. I don't expect anything that they say in public to actually be true.

Mossad did this before and promised not to use fake cloned British passports again. (According to one of the articles I read on the topic.) Which is probably why people are quite so upset. Nothing like Mossad lying to you! ;)

You might have a point there, but a supposedly friendly intelligence agency using british citizen's cloned passports is not something the UK can accept.

Oh well, if Mossad promised to never do it again then I'm completely shocked, shocked I tell you!

So they should only do it to "unfriendly" agencies? Do you think the Brits have never posed as citizens of their allies for secret service purposes? That part of it is a fuss about nothing. The only thing that is slightly unsavoury is that some of the ids belong to real people. This was probably to make background checks safer. I can't see any other reason for it.

Why are you getting your knickers in a twist about the UK getting theirs?

Indeed, that's the issue.
