"British Open Championship Golf" is actually a damned good game that deserved to make Looking Glass lots of money. I don't think you can blame them for figuring that they could do well by tapping into the sizeable golf market with a fresh approach to the game.
Ditto "Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri", of course... another high-quality game that lost them a whole bunch of money.
The games were great; unfortunately I think that Looking Glass relied upon that being enough to make them sell. In a fair world, it would have been, but sadly it wasn't to be, and they had a lot at stake with the self-published games.
"Flight Unlimited" did rather nicely, of course, but certainly not enough to carry the losses made on TN:SFC and BOCG :(

I cannot agree more. I followed computer golf gaming from the first LINKS Bountiful golf course. Although I did play some earlier versions, LINKS is when computer golf got "serious", if I can use that word.
BOCG is the best golf game I have played on either an IBM compatible computer or video game system, of which I have owned plenty of different systems ( Including the NEC Turbografix! ). I am currently enjoying TWG 13 on a PS3.
I have three complete sets of the 2 disc set with 2 boxes. I love everything about this game. I love the graphics, the swing mode, the putting ( although to some, this is a bone of contention ) and the sound effects. The 2 golf courses are drastically different than what you see in any other game trying to replicate a course from "across the pond". Thank goodness I can still play the game on my Vista computer. I successfully loaded the patch, again. I like the animated gallery. I was able to correspond briefly with Rex Bradford, which gave me great joy. Please visit my BOCG Facebook page ... thank you.
