Not able to find much with search, i'm hoping someone can help me figure out why Thief 2 is blowing out the lights. It doesn't do this in Thief 1 and I've ruled out Thief 2's gamma and HDMod as possible culprits. Not only are they blindingly bright but they put a distinct circle on the wall right behind the light. I tried searching with AI tools, and it came back that it was a known bug, but it didn't used to be this way, and I included an FM screenshot I found online versus one I took in-game to show the difference. My NewDark settings are the default settings, I believe.
Thanks for any help!

Look in the root directory of your Thief install. Look for a file named NewDark Graphics Settings. Double click it to open a customization menu. These settings control various customizations to new dark's improved graphic features that include how light sources like the ones in your picture behave. The lights are controlled via the three black areas with cyan titles of Config 1, Config 2, Config 3. You can see a preview of how the various options behave by clicking on the lower left area with Config 1: Preview, Config 2: Preview, Config 3: Preview. It has been a long time since I tweaked mine, so you have to play around with the settings.

Must be from a specific patch cause I don't have anything like it in my install.
Anyway, I'm not sure but it seems likely that "bloom" is enabled?
I'd say check cam_ext.cfg and if there's a line that looks like this:
Add a ";" in front to comment it.

It was postprocessing. I had already turned off bloom through the 3 different lighting config settings and tried each one, but since post processing was a different field, I left it alone. Thank you very much! (but there is a NewDark config executable, just not sure which version it came with).
Thanks again!
Edit::::
Interestingly, I have T2 installed twice (one for Dromed and one for playing), and both are different even though the same Tfix version was used. I don't have the newdark graphics config (.exe ) on my dromed version. It must be an install choice... I did try and install much less on my Dromed install.
