*Minus booze and male-strippers(and female strippers I could hear your minds churning)
I know, I know. After reading the disclaimer most of your ideas went down the drain. Sorry.
My sister is getting married in early August, and as her sister(and the maid of honor ^^) I need to do a little sumthin'. But what to do?
It would likely just be her and I, since those are probably the only two schedules we could work out(for the bachelorette part).
The bridal shower should have more people attending.
Any thoughts or ideas that would be helpful for someone on a budget?
I need help, and fast! July is almost here and before I know it it will be August.
I need ideas on everything from food items to activities. What to do what to do.
Thanks! :)

If you're removing booze, it surely can't be a bachelorette party! May as well call it a sleepover and have pillow fights in your pyjamas

For mine we had pole dancing lessons. Really fun but it's important to have the right kind of people for this. I imagine it could get awkward if no one participates or laughs or cheers. Get one of those agencies that come to your house and set up there. Some snacks and drinks and you're set.
If you want something tamer ~ I'm hosting a kitchen tea (blegh) in August and we're doing a whole mad hatters tea party theme. Dressing her up like Alice and the theme lends itself towards funky decorations & cool games. All guests have to wear a hat etc

Okay for this to work you're going to need:
1) A large tea set (adequate for however many people are showing up).
2) Lots of lingerie for your guests to try on
3) A camera
4) Pillows
5) Four llamas
6) A peach tree
7) Two I bars you can get from a construction site.
8) and a sewing machine.
Meet me behind the old Flinter's place at midnight.

1 word... VEGAS :D
definatly a rough situations, I would say since it's just going to be the two of you, a traditional "party" wouldn't really work. So why not go to a concert or something? a night at the Hard Rock? maybe you can't have a female stripper over, but what about a strip club:ebil: themepark? eh, I don't know, I suck at these things, massage? sightseeing? horseback riding? shopping? caverns? camping?

Something that my Sister-on-law's friends did for her bridal shower-- They tape recorded my brother's answers to a bunch of questions, then at the shower asked her the same questions and compared the answers.
The only one that I remember right off was what would each of them order were they to go eat at Burger King. My brother said something like "She'll say that I'd get the bacon cheeseburger, but I'd actually get the chicken sandwich." Her reply was "He thinks that I'll say the bacon cheeseburger, but he'd actually want the chicken sandwich."
There were apparently several eerily exact answers like that.
Sorry if it's kind of lame, but you asked, and that popped into my head.

Have you ever watched that show where they all go on a scavenger hunt? I can't remember the name of it,only that one of the teams was a little person..it was amazing kind of to see her running about and riding horses...anyway. I think it's called Amazing Race since I said the word there.
Get them all in teams of two or three, work out some clues for them to follow, send them about the town, meet up later at some posh restaurant then hire me to present to the winner something fabulous.

Shayde: Hey, your party is the date of her wedding, maybe we could just crash it? Hehe.
I like your idea, but there will likely be older stuffy family members at the bridal shower, and they get very easily offended. So no lingerie fun and such. :(
I would LOVE to do the pole-dancing thing, that would be a lot of fun. But I get the idea I would be the only one enjoying the lessons... :erm: Hehe.
Spaztick: You've stumped me with the peach tree.
Thief13x: I doubt Vegas wouldn't fall under the catagory of "budget". And it might be a little odd to take my sister to a strip-club. I like the massage idea, but I don't know if she'd like it.
I'm starting to think maybe dinner and a movie. Hehe. :P
Hewer: I really like that idea, that was great! I don't know if they would get very many questions right about each other/the same as each other though, unfortunately. And that could make it awkward.
I think that was a really great idea though.
jimjack: I like your idea too. But I can already hear everyone complaining about gas prices and getting lost. Unfortunately the people that will likely be at the shower aren't exactly WOO LET'S HAVE FUN sort of people.
That's why I'm trying to find something really fun that we can do, to make up for that.
Maybe I can get Shug to come over and have a pillow fight with us. Or have Shug and ScotsTaffer over to have a pillow fight and that can be our entertainment. ;)
Thank you all for your ideas. Please keep them coming. :)
