That pretty much sums up what we in the UK have learned over many years about this clown who is now our prime minister. I would argue that "incompetent" would be flattery.

So Johnson suggested that the EU was gonna abolish prawn cocktail crips, but that was not the case ? Is that it ? Is that one of the evil things Boris did ?
I haven't watched the full 22 minutes. (I hate that style of presentation. Rachel Maddow is 10x worse. Taking 20 minutes to tell something that could be said in 30 seconds. Or written down in 3 lines. Fuck them for trying to waste my time). I skipped through it. As I expected, it was more entertainment than information. "Look at the man with the funny hair. Isn't he ridiculous ?!". If you keep mentioning his hair and showing that photo where he got stuck in a zipline, that's basically admitting you got nothing bad on the man's politics. I think he just gets the hate because he has a political stance that is perfectly fine, but happens to be different from yours (or most journalists). Namely that the EU sucks.
Call me again when he has put children in cages, when he gave billions of tax breaks to the rich, when he called everyone from a neighboring country "murderers and rapists". Or when he started a war. Or redesigned voting districts. You got nothing to worry about, so far.

That's one of the promises he made. As a leftist bastard, that alone pisses me off. But if you'd watch that whole video, lengthy as it is, it'll give you more true and accurate information, even though it's just a comedy show. There is so much to say about Boris, and very little of it is gonna be good. Proven multiple liar, but then again, what politician isn't. Works a room like Trump, saying what people there want to hear, regardless of how it fits with his policies, or the truth. I will say nothing of his personal life, that is not relevant for the job he's supposed to do, but it does suggest he's not gonna do that well either.

Well yes. And like Trump he will say stuff, walk away from it and not give a damn how it turns out as long as it's not personal or out-of-pocket to him. So he campaigns for Brexit and then shrugs when it wins and say he's got other things to do so see ya around... and now having seen what May couldn't get across the finish line, now he comes back and says well of course he can fix it, one must simply drive the exit through, deal or no deal and hang the backstop and no worries (no maps! no counts of even what isles may remain in UK?!) and the main thing is to just Leave on time already. One can end up thinking "because his own parachute is packed, so..."
People in the limbo of being EU workers in the UK or vice versa seem pretty weary of it all and certainly of the politicians' party-oriented power jousting. Johnson may have timed his reappearance correctly. People are like "whatever it is, just bring it so we can try to get on with our freaking lives."
All this just my opinion.

"Lol TLDR" would have been sufficient to sum up your stance.
Boris Johnson didn't just lie about some prawn cocktail crisps, he persistently spread all kinds of malicious lies about the EU, lies that spread as wildfire and were taken for truth by many. Of course he was not alone in this, but he has been one of the main actors. His stance is not just that "EU sucks", he is actively trying to destroy European unity and to drive a wedge between the UK and Europe by the most damaging means possible, damn the consequences, damn North Ireland.
And in skipping the video, you also missed where it was pointed out that his bumbling persona is a calculated act, some of his frankly astonishing bigotry, the damage he has done to foreign relations, and the sheer incompetence and arrogance on display. He's a posh twat who doesn't know what he is talking about, doesn't do his homework, doesn't care... he's patently unqualified to hold the job of a janitor, let alone that of a foreign minister and definitely not that of a prime minister.

I simply can not understand why Trump is bulletproof. Any ONE of his inane statements would end the career of any other politician, but he keeps spewing them out so fast nobody can keep up with all the nonsense. Oddly, that's worked for Boris Johnson as well. Can nobody tell that these people are charlatans, morons, fakes, bluffs and idiots?
Yah, I remain mystified. I even remain mystified as to Trump's election, although I've said for a long time that the whole setup was so anomalous on both sides in 2016 that no one should ever draw any conclusions whatsoever about it, and certainly not as basis for projection.
But.. but.. there's a lot I did not know about a lot of my fellow citizens. I am still trying to process the ongoing lessons. Even making the (necessary) distinction between what goes on in social media and what goes on out in the street -- or in rural villages-- it's hard for me to get a grip on the fact that people apparently don't regard either "policy" or "character" as essential to choosing a candidate. It would seem to be about purported ideology, period. Or else just whichever opposition-trashing memes can best confirm one's existing sociopolitical bias.
I would not have expected anyone even 10 years ago to overlook the behavior Trump has exhibited from day one of his campaign for the 2016 election. Never mind since inauguration. The blurring of lines between campaigning and governance is so out of protocol as to strike me as unAmerican... and alarmingly authoritarian. And his nonstop lies. Plus he never met a law he figured really applied to him. My god. How did we get here?
Maybe there's something in the air or water. Hah, I did read about how scientists have found microplastic fibers in rainfall now in the USA... Not sure what the UK's excuse for picking Johnson is nor can I swear that's why we elected Trump, but that stuff in our water can't be any better for us than it is for the poor sea creatures lapping up microscopic plastic trash as if it were plankton.

I don't know if this will help avoid disaster but it is a satisfying moment.
(
https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/britain-parliament-brexit-1.5268337) Boris Johnson lost control of the Parliament.
There was video of one conservative crossing the floor in the middle of B.J's latest, threat filled rant. I hope they keep sticking it to him until he bleeds out... politically, of course.

Certainly in the short term leave is a comparatively massive gamble on whatever shape the government of the UK is after they've finished stabbing each other in the back managing to behave like adults.
I think they're getting close to thinking about being nearly done with the stabbing each other bit, only taken them three and a bit years
