Christ.
I think different to you Renz. The flash forwards suggest something else to me.

You can never tell with this show. It could very easily end up taking an entirely different direction none of us would be expecting, but makes perfect sense when we see it happen.
Though unless some massive twist gets dropped on us in the next episode, Walt wouldn't be going back to save Jesse, and Jesse certainly wouldn't be asking Walt for help.

No, I don't think that Walt
will go to save Jessie.I think something terrible will happen to some of his family, hence them moving out of the house. He'll go back to kill every single one of Uncle Jack's gang. And at the end of it only Jessie will be alive. And he'll walk off with this music playing in the background.(

BB isn't the type of show that gives away happy endings. It'll tease you with one, sure. Right before stabbing you in the gut and twisting the knife to make sure you feel the pain. If any ending leaves Jesse alive to the closing credits, I'm sure it'll be set up so he unknowingly gets ahold of the ricin cigarette beforehand. The closing shot will be him putting it up to his lips, then cutting to black right before he lights it. We don't see him die, but we're lefting knowing he won't be alive for long thereafter.
I'm thinking Breaking Bad isn't gonna end with anything but more of what we saw this last Sunday. Hope all you want, but keep a spare box of tissues off to the side as a contingency.
And, I might add, that song was pretty decent.

Well that's just it isn't it? Anything can happen. Anything.
I reckon Jessie will be the one who kills Walt actually. And Walt won't get to say to him, as he bleeds out, "I, I thought of you as a, as a son". Nope, he'll be too done in to say anything or as he is about to Jessie or someone else will finish him off.
What I am wondering is: why did Walt tell Jessie that he watched Jane suffocate and die ? That was a very cruel thing to say. Later on in the same episode, Walt is very cruel to his wife Skyler. And we learned that he did this intentionally. So the police would think Skyler was pressured by Walt into doing whatever they found out she did. So Walt was cruel Skyler for a purpose.
So why was he cruel to Jesse ?
The only thing I can think of is this. Jessie is tired of everything. He gave away his money. He is suicidal. If nothing special had happened, Uncle Jack would have found Jesse, and killed him. Jesse would not have resisted. But now Jesse is even more pissed off at Walt. Jesse did not start a new life, because he could not leave before "mr White had been stopped". So was Walt cruel to Jesse, just to blow new life and survival instinct into Jesse ? Because now Jesse doesn't want to die, until Walt is dead. That will give Walt the opportunity to come back, kill Uncle Jack, and save Jesse ?
I don't think Walt is all bad. He was often ruthless, because he had to be for the business. It got a lot worse over the year, of course. But there is still some decency in him. Like when he told Uncle Jack to not come when he was arrested. Like when he tried to save Hank's life.
Supposedly the writer (Gilligan) has said during old interviews that "obviously the story will end bad". Walt is gonna die. I'm not sure he has literally said that. But many people believe Walt will die in the end. We've seen the "flash forward" in the first episode of this season. Walt seems alive ? So what will happen ? I think that flash forward was put in especially because Gilligan had already talked about the end, even if that was years ago. They had to find a new way to make us curious about the end.
Because Gilligan has said Walt will die, it will not be a surprise when he dies indeed. So actually I expect the opposite to happen: Walt will live ! Things will end bad, but Walt will live. He will be separated from his family. He'll probably have no money left. And he will be constantly tormented by all the thing he's done. That is also not a happy ending. But I think Walt and Jesse will live.
Nope, he'll be too done in to say anything or as he is about to Jessie or someone else will finish him off. I honestly think it's gonna be Walt who will live to see the end. He'll get his one last hurrah, but it'll be an empty and pointless victory. He'll look back on everything he's lost, who he's betrayed, who he's hurt, and realize there's not a thing he can do about any of it, because the cancer will soon take him.
To me, it's the perfect ending for someone like Walt. Someone who always needs to be in control, to do what he wants to do, to be able to fix what needs fixing. Ending the show with him achieving some semblance of a final victory, yet leaving his entire life in ruins and powerless to do anything about it would be a living hell for him.Quote Posted by LittleFlower

And we learned that he did this intentionally. So the police would think Skyler was pressured by Walt into doing whatever they found out she did. So Walt was cruel Skyler for a purpose.
So why was he cruel to Jesse ? It's simple. Walt hates Jesse. In his own way, Walt thought of Jesse as his surrogate son. He took him under his wings, did everything he could for him, and yet despite all the fatherly deeds on his part, all he got was betrayal for his efforts. Walt's so self centered, he only saw Jesse the way he wanted to see him, not as he actually was. It ended up taking him completely by surprise.
Considering the way Walt's mind works, I'm sure he places every bit of the blame on Jesse for Hank's death. To him, if they just talked it out, did everything his way, then all would've been fine. Everyone would've been happy. Instead, he ratted him out to Hank, which not only lead to strife within his actual family, but also lead to Hank getting shot in the desert, and the Nazis taking the vast majority of his cash.
So from Walt's perspective, not only did Jesse betray his trust, but he's also responsible for every single thing that happened from the desert on. He loathes Jesse, and mentioning watching Jane die while he was being marched to his death was Walt's final way of kicking him in the ribs while he was already down

I don't think I agree.
I think there is more to it.
But we'll see next week.
Renzatic on 18/9/2013 at 02:32
Ehh...I dunno. Try to look at it from Walt's perspective, and consider what kind of person he is. We're talking about someone who never takes responsibility for the consequences of his own actions, is the type of person who can take a wonderful offer from an old estranged friend and misconstrue it as a slight against his character, leaps to conclusions if things don't go his way, and can hold a grudge for decades.
He's doing the same thing to Jesse he did to Elliot, Gus, and Mike.

I agree with Renz. On the one hand we see how much of a evil git he has become by putting the boot in to Jessie (remember, if Meth Damon hadn't said what he did...) but on the other how he still wants to help Skylar despite everything.
