As for ranged weapons, here's one word to describe them... "Sux"
I tried 'beefing' up my wonderful daedric bow to 200/200 dmg... and well, it's still better to just take my big axe to their necks etc

Oops! Sorry. But you're right in saying that only Dremora Lords have them (well as far as I know that is). A good place to get the is at... [spoiler]...the Vivec Underworks. Nearly all the cantons have a daedric shrine underneath them. Take the offerings before the statue and a Dremora Lord would be summoned behind you. You might wanna save before doing that as the drop is indeed random, so you can reload if he drops a measly Dwarven Axe or something. I found my first ebony longsword, daedric longsword and daedric dai-katana there. [/spoiler] Hope that helps!

The Dren plantation near Pelegiad has lots of good loot, check the guard towers for daedric daikatanas if your sick of waiting for one from a misc. item drop...
