Ahh electronic music elitism again. Is there some sort of law that says you're only allowed to like up to 3 extremely specific subgenres of electronic music, with the corollary that once your genre becomes popular, you have to start hating it?
though if speedcore or noisecore ever becomes popular and is featured in every trailer, i'm piercing my eardrums.

I actually like a lot of varieties of electronic music. Dubstep is not one of them.

Dubstep is shit, but then it's the current "really terrible subgenre of electronic music that's insanely popular 2 years after everyone else knows about it". There's always one. At one time it was old school house, then novelty techno, in the mid 90's everyone liked shitty jungle and speed garage, house made a comeback for awhile, etc. So while it's shitty it's not any more noteworthy than every other shitty subgenre of electronic music that the masses latch onto because they can't handle electronic music that isn't completely mindless.
Yeah because Kode9, Burial, Kryptic Minds and Digital Mystikz et al are soo mindless. Don't speak about shit you don't know anything about. If anything, the most annoying thing about dubstep is the fact that it's played in clubs and is fucking annoying to dance to, because it is too introvert and slow for that. It's only the folk that incorporate other genres into it that make it as enjoyable as drum'n'bass or other faster genres live.

There is good shit that people call 'dubstep' but most of it's a lot closer to early Autechre than bullshit like Skillrex. That's true of basically any kind of music though.
I hadn't heard Kode9 before, btw, this is pretty good.

If you just want to put in the disc and play, get a console you loser!
I'd like to put the disc in and have a satisfactory user interface experience on a PC, it's really not too much to expect.
Low expectation results in getting what you wish for. Don't be happy to be fed rubbish.

Dubstep has its place. I thought it was used appropriately here. But then again, I quite like some dubstep.

Dubstep has its place.
And that place is a ditch somewhere.
