I was wondering if any of the books seen in Deus Ex were actually books. I know that Deus Ex quoted 'The Man Who Was Thursday (beyond the desk at the hotel)' but I was wondering if there were any others.
Thanks

In the Parisian building with O and Rene there's a book called something like 'The Eye of Aragorn' that is a real book.

I know for a fact that Jacob's Shadow was made just for the game. I heard they were trying to reference the feeling of the classic cyberpunk novel Neuromancer, but I don't know for sure as I have never read it (though I've wanted to since then).
Jacob's Shadow was always one of my favorite's in the game as the chapter you could read always matched up with what was going on in game at the time. Also it was just written in a really cool noirish fashion.

I bought a copy of The Man Who Was Thursday after playing the game, and it's a fun book. Sort of like a 1900's James Bond spying on the evil anarchists after taking some LSD.

I'll second that. The Man Who Was Thursday is really right up the Deus Ex-paranoid alley. :)

Do read it, it's fantastic - although It reminds me much more of System Shock than Deus Ex.
Also the name Jacob's Shadow reminds more of Ender's Shadow, doesn't it? Ender's Shadow was a funny little SF sequel/remake: the author wrote yet another book with no new story: He recounts Ender's Game (his very famous book) with another character in the spotlight. So maybe Jacob's Shadow is the re-telling of another book...
