Yes, I said
BOOBS (and no, that wasn't just to get your attention... although it did, didn't it?)
In case anyone has been wondering... No I am not dead (as far as I know). I have been somewhat of a phantom entity about these parts, real life is such a cruel bitch sometimes. For those who do not know, I moved to Colorado in September of 2007 (after living in California for 40 years). Before that, I had participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in San Francisco 2 years in a row. These walks were some of of the most exciting, emotional, happy, memorable and all-around rewarding experiences of my life. Last year I missed the Rocky Mountain Walk here in Colorado, but did register to walk this year. Well, this has been a really bad year for me (including the death of my father in February)... anyway, I had decided not to do the walk after all.

Today I learned that a friend, Sheila had passed away after a long battle with breast cancer. So, I changed my mind.
Yes, I am asking for money. :cheeky:
In the past, the TTLG community has been PHENOMENAL in helping me to raise money to support this cause. You all literally blew me away. So, naturally I come to you once again.

If we're lucky we end life suckling on a breast.
So anybody who's against breasts is against life itself."

For those of you who have donated and supported me in the past, God bless you. Many of you shared stories with me of how breast cancer has affected your lives and the lives of those you love. You know how important this fight is, so let's do it again!
For those who are new, we need your help, too! Please help support the crusade to fight this horrible disease by making a contribution to my walk. $1, $10, $500... whatever you can give will make a difference.
I'm required to raise at least $1,800 in donations to participate in the walk, but I've set my goal at $2,500 this year (even though I'm starting this at such a late date). We've done it before and we can do it again!

In less than the time it took to read this post,
one more woman in the U.S. alone was diagnosed with breast cancer.[/CENTER]
Making a contribution is easy... You can make a donation for any amount (in any currency) online by visiting my personal Avon Walk page at
(http://www.avonwalk.org/goto/maralove) and click the big pink
"DONATE NOW" button.
Or, if you prefer to not do the online thing... you can write a check, or money order, or pay with a credit card using this PDF
(http://www.msledd.com/avonwalk/AvonDonationForm-951330.pdf) donation form. You can fill in the form using Acrobat Reader, or print and fill it in manually. Then mail it directly to Avon Foundation. If you have any questions, or want to make other arrangements, just let me know. Send me a PM, or email (my email address is in my profile).

I will happily donate and I support what you are doing.
Sorry about the loss of your father. :(

I'm really proud of you for all the effort you put in to do raise all this money, and I'm also proud of TTLG for continuing to astound me by coming up with the goods each year.
I'm sorry for your father's passing, there's not much I can say other than that really sucks.
One of my best friends had cancer recently, but is currently in remission, so this one has extra meaning for me.
For the boobs! :D

I'm sorry to hear about your father. :(
I'm currently jobless, so I can't do much, but you'll have a small token of my support soon as well.

I pitched $10 in, but there's no transfer marked yet on my online balance sheet and that's usually almost instant. :erg:
Anyway, sites asking for donations could learn to use Paypal for increased safety. I'm not happy to reveal my card number so often, even if the site pretends to be secured.
But I'm happy to help in the first place! =)

You know, I may get flamed for this but so be it. I own a nursery, and this year we got some roses called Pink Promise. The tags that came with it say that it is the official rose of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. I thought to myself that there is no way I can make any money off of these so I contacted them and told them I wanted to donate all proceeds from the sales of these to them and did they have anything I needed (signs and such) to do so.
They never even bothered to respond so apparently they don't need any money and as such will not receive any from me.
