Just re-watched Casino Royale last night again with the wife. If you've only seen it once I highly recommend a repeat viewing - it's fucking brilliant.

I love the old bonds as much as the next guy, but I like the Dr. No Bond better than the Inspector Gadget Bond. Go, Go, Gadget Submarine...
I think "Head On: Apply Directly to the Forehead" would be better. :p

One or two movies like that is okay. Afterwards it gets grating very quickly. The last couple of Bonds before
Casino Royale struck me as over-produced Christmas pantos.

And unfortunately it's a recurring trend with the Bond movies.
I know You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever have a lot of fans, but they're definately already way sillier than the Connery Bonds that preceded them. And the less said about Moonraker through to A View To A Kill, the better.
Seems like the only Bond actors to have gotten away with not having made any crap movies are George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig, but neither of them has made more than 2 Bond movies yet. ;)

George Lazenby: Mostly TV: Baywatch, Team Knight Rider, Freddy's Nightmares: A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Series, The Adventures of Superboy, BJ and the Bear and a whole shitload of Emmanuelle movies. Plus, titles like Death Dimension, Hell Hunters, and Never Too Young To Die don't fill me with hope. OH WAIT ALSO UNIVERSAL SOLDIER AHAHAHAHAAAA
Timothy Dalton: Flash Gordon, Possessed, Looney Tunes:Back in Action
Daniel Craig: I'm only going to list The Jacket here, because I'm already laughing too hard.

I think he meant Bond movies.
Gingerbread Man on 9/2/2008 at 01:20
If he did, then Lazenby doesn't count since he only made one (and it's arguably the best from a point of view of "is the movie as good as the book?")
Pyrian on 9/2/2008 at 01:22
...The paucity of Bond movies they each made was exactly his point.
Gingerbread Man on 9/2/2008 at 01:33
oh shit
Well, I've totally misinterpreted the claim. Reading it again I suppose it could be construed to mean the three haven't done any crap BOND movies, yes.
Although there's still loads of time for Daniel Craig.
