But does anyone have any ideas as to why that head won't talk to me? You have to click on the stone head lying on the floor, right?

I think there some dude in Vos you shouldn't talk with about the shrine. A bug fixed in the patch.
...And of course you activate statues by pressing spacebar... Right?

Well, no I have it set to another key, but yeah, I use the general "use" key. Some guy in Vos I SHOULDN'T have talked with? That might be it, although I don't remember talking to anyone about it, I have been playing for quite a while, so may have forgotten... is there some unofficial patch I can get that would fix this? Or maybe something I could do in the editor or console myself?

When I was poking thru the editor last night, I think I saw a script with boethial's name (or a fragment of his name) in its title. (You should be able to access the scripts via an item on one of the editor's drop-down menus) Poking around in that might help reveal the source of your frustration.
Of course, if it's a Journal entry then (unless someone's found a way to delete Journal entries, which I haven't) you'll likely have to make a quick mod to just alter what that one script looks for.

It probably is the journal entry, but no matter, the new patch has fixed it all up. The moment I entered the water in that cell the guy spoke to me... now I just gotta wait for one week while this orc builds his shrine using the "statue book" and the 2000 I got from Mr. Creeper.

Is HE not a SHE?
I have always believed that Boethiah was a Daedra Princess - not prince.... I may be mistaken however!

Hmm... I have no idea. The ruined statue looks quite masculine, but then again, it IS ruined. It sounds very much like a HE however when HE talks.

Hrm.. Daedras' gender seems to be somewhat mercurial, or it may just be that they're inapplicable to Daedra.
In one of his sermons, Vivec claims to have married Boethial and had children with him/her/it, but then again the sermons also seems to be a pack of lies put together by Vivec to cover up an inadequate personality unable to cope with his life (all that "wife of the netchiman", growing from an egg, and the like; his papers in the hidden library indicate that he was a mortal councillor to Lord Nerevarine, and not a senior one either, until the Dwemer threat)
On the other hand, Boethial's statue is definitely male and Azura's is definitely female.
And lastly, just to add to confusion, while Boethial is referred to as the Prince of Plots (and Lies too, IIRC), Azura is referred to as a 'Prince' of Daedra.
Eater1 on 22/6/2002 at 02:07
Yes, I seem to recall some other books where Boethial's and Azura's gender was a bit ify, but if he claims to have married Boethial, then Daedra MUST have a gender of some sort, even if it changes according to situation... Vivec might write lies, but he's not likely to write completely baseless lies that would muddle up the whole story of the game. I believe there are some other comments regarding Boethial's gender in one of the Temple quests, I just don't remember them exactly.
