Currently I'm trying to find a downloadable map set for (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Hulk) Space Hulk, a fun Aliens-styled wargame for which I've lost my original map tiles. It's essentially a squad-based RTS in tabletop form, and it is fun because it is extremely fast-paced and unforgiving of mistakes. A game can be anywhere from ten to thirty minutes, but can go from 'doing okay' to 'everyone is dead' in one turn if you screw up.
It's actually very similar to Alien Swarm as a tabletop game.
Other than that, I scored an unpunched copy of Starship Troopers by Avalon Hill off of eBay a week ago, so I've been learning the rules to that.

Its a little bit of a rarity now, but if you're interested in D&D but don't want to spend the time on it, you might be able to pick up a copy of (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HeroQuest) Hero Quest on ebay for cheapish. It was fun and didn't require all the pre planning and rules that D&D or its later variants did. I had a lot of fun with it, my copy is trashed though and I've been looking for a good replacement for years.

Re: space hulk...OH MY FUCKING GOD.
That there is a classic example "you can either have spare time, or money".
I would've killed for those mold sets when I was a teenager, but hell: I could barely afford games workshop's obscene prices as it was, let alone splurge on non-GW peripherals.
Now I could happily afford it, but have barely enough spare time to even sleep*...
*what with all the minecrafting :p

2nded on HeroQuest. That game was a heap of fun to play, and theres heaps of expansions for it if you put the time in to get them (7 expansions in total I think).
Another 2nd for Monopoly. My gf got me back into the game this year and we've been playing it quite a fair bit. Great game. Just make sure you play the quick play rules (only 3 houses needed before you can place a hotel etc) as otherwise the game can go on for QUITE some time.

I begrudge this game since the first time I played, I rolled a 1 for movement the first 4 turns and therefore couldn't escape a zombie. Don't ask me how the farmer's daughter ever helped out on the ranch with such a gimp leg. (Not my kind of game anyways so I held the grudge.)

I'll throw in additional votes for Shadows over Camelot and Arkham Horror. AH is actually a lot easier than it looks at first, though, unless you throw in a few of the expansions and there are a lot more things you have to stop exploding in your face.
I'm a fan of really big epic stuff, so I'm a big fan of (
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/12493/twilight-imperium-third-edition) Twilight Imperium, which involves a lot of galactic conquest and shaky alliances. When boardgamegeek says 240 minutes, read that as 600+. There's potentially a lot of decision making in just setting the board up.
On an even more epic scale, there's (
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/71/civilization) Civilization (best played with the (
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgameexpansion/177/advanced-civilization) Advanced Civilization expansion). Note this is NOT the Sid Meier Civ board game, this harks all the way back to 1980. Wikipedia claims they don't make it any more :( If you do get hold of a copy, put aside a long weekend for a game if you have lots of players.
