So, I've been continuing with Blue Prince after what was apparently just the tutorial and I still have somewhat mixed feelings about the game. It feels sort of clunky and messy in an old school kind of way I can't even fully put my finger on. It's like the opposite of whatever Valve is doing where they ensure everyone has a uniformly consistent and streamli smooth experience.
I'll give at least this much to the game -- there's nothing quite like it. Despite my brain desperately searching for comparisons, it feels like anything I come up with falls short in some significant way. Some people have compared it to Myst. I've never played any of the Myst games, but maybe I now finally get a little bit of why some people are so crazy about it. The game's world operates on its own magic realism kind of logic and you have to figure out how it works in order to make any kind of significant progress, but most of the time you're just walking around and filing things away in your brain and your notepad, constantly keep picking up bits and pieces that contribute to the progress in some small way or give clues to parts of some bigger puzzle.
Speaking of which, the puzzles at the stage I'm in have gotten quite a bit more complex now. There's one in particular in the Gallery that just makes my brain hurt, so I just gave up on it until I can maybe find more clues about it. Also, the dart board game has grown so convoluted I officially dislike it now. Other than that, though, I'd say the game still holds up 50 or so hours in and it has far more depth than seemed at the first glance.

Day 35 was my lucky day. After so many days without much progress, day 35 felt like the RNG gods had opened a giant bag of puzzle pieces and poured them down on me, and somehow all the puzzle pieces just happened to fall in the right places. After getting to the Basement for the second time, the rest felt really easy. In fact, it felt a bit too easy. Of course, I had gathered a lot of clues and done some required stuff beforehand, but still, I finally reached Room 46 that same day.
I think I've still got a lot of mysteries to solve, but with the main objective out of the way, I'm not sure if I can be bothered. In the end I fell in love with Blue Prince despite its repetitiveness and I'm not ready to put the game down just yet, but I'm not sure if some random pieces of in-game lore can motivate me enough.
Also, I'd still love to turn Blue Prince into a board game.

My partner and I are deep into the post game trying to uncover all the remaining mysteries. Unfortunately for us though, there was a bug on PS5 that until this week prevented game saves from working after about Day 100. Thankfully it's fixed and we can get on with it.
It does feel like this game is meant for certain people. It's not a game I'd recommend to just anyone. You'd really have to be into solving mysteries and following clues to find the post-game interesting. The "reach room 46" track is pretty cool but given how many times I've done it now, it's kinda not the point, or very interesting to me. Like with Hades it just gets easier to do each time. I'm here for the Riven-styled mysteries.
Anyway, I'm trying to avoid spoilers so I probably won't drop back in until we're done with the "true" ending. Assuming we can even find it.

Holler if you want a hint.

Nah, if the hints in the game are not enough, then you're just not meant to solve it and the game has so far always given plenty of hints or even outright solutions to its puzzles.
