Do you have any idea how often I've answered that question?
:p
A&E did not stop having kids after Cain was born, and amoungst them would have been a few daughters. In fact there were plenty of humans around by the time Cain killed Able. That's why Cain was afraid that whoever would find him would kill him.
Gen.4:14;
And yes, that means he probably married his sister, but that was not outlawed until much much later.

Oh, how I love the rich irony of watching certain christians proclaim themselves as somehow different from some other "cult."

"For six days you shall work, and on the seventh day you shall rest".
They invented it.

and seriously, how long would you give the human race to live with that sort of inbreeding going on?

War is not evil, or bad, it's part of Human Nature, and how does the new testament disregard the old testament? It doesen't. The Second world war was a just war for England to join, those Nazi's were taking over Europe. True, the Iraq war (second) was pretty pointless, except removing Saddam, now at least Basra is relatively peaceful.
Traitors also get banished to hell, and, aren't like those 6 million people who died in concentration camps (primarily) Jewish, God's chosen people...
Also, what's up with Christian church's accepting people who do not follow Bible definitions as leaders (i.e. the whole Gay Bishop issue). If they do not beleive in the bible's opinion against homosexuality, why do they say they are christians, it's non-sensical. It would be like a (performing) Porn star wanting to become a pastor, against the bible's teachings, so wrong.
Although these are my opinions, which could be wrong, like my opinion that Weed never hurt anyone.

Chimpy Chompy, this takes us back to assumptions.
Keep in mind that we believe Adam and Eve to have been the very first humans.
Their DNA would have been in pretty good shape.
We also don't know what the earth's environment was like back then. The bible says it did not even rain until the great flood.
Playing the 'what if Genesis is true' game requires some very alternative thinking.
:)

I think having homosexual bishops is wrong myself. It's just one more deviation from the Bible that's happened in the Church.

I'd say that human nature
is evil.

I agree, it doesn't.

They are in deed God's chosen people, although I think Jesus (also a jew) was quite clear on the need to believe in Him.

I don't understand that either.

So? You can't build a healthy popluation out of two people. Unless we're going to say the two had special-magic DNA, or some other fancy-God-trick that is beyond proof or disproof.

I'd rather play "why do people want to believe some creation myth". (which I get the impression you do... but forgive me if I've misread you).

Something I find a bit bizarre is that the presumed Mitochondrial Eve is gauged to have lived roughly 150,000 years ago, whereas her male counterpart "Y-Chromosome Adam" seems to be tracked back to about 75,000 years ago.
Mind you, that could just mean that the molecular clock technique needs some serious work. Plus it's not for sure if mitochondrial transmission is a purely matrilineal marker, as it has been observed on occasion that the sperm's mitochondria is passed to the offspring... plus there's also been some observed recombination of the male and female mitochondrial DNA.
Regardless, the phylogenies do all seem to stumble back to Mother Africa at some point.
