It's similar in setting, Ergo Proxy being in a dark, gritty post-apocalyptic future, and the method of storytelling is the same although one thing I can't stand is the way Ergo Proxy starts every episode
in medias res.
But at least it doesn't go around spouting obscure Latin phrases.

In medias res is hardly obscure.

Maybe I should've given a Wikipedia link to it.

I dunno; I've seen the concept talked about extensively in school and elsewhere, but the actual phrase I don't think I've ever heard before.

ambiguous
That's the best part.

The beauty is in the doubt. Sure there are hints, but that's all they are.

Here's the thing, I absolutely agree with that. It's ambiguous in the sense that there's still an inkling of doubt in your mind, even after you add up all of the evidence. And really, that's what makes the movie.
It's NOT, however, ambiguous in the sense that "There's support out there for either conclusion." It's a subtle difference, but an important one.

Haven't you been banned yet?
(What's really amazing is that you are so unable to see shades of gray with your small minded, literalistic, black/white view of everything, that you even fuck up your understanding of the word "ambiguous." ;))

Blade Runner is my very favorite movie of all time, however I didn't see it until 1991. I have always been sorry that I didn't see it at the theater, but there's not much I can do about that now. Don't feel badly that it took you a while to see it, just be glad that you finally did, and now you have a movie that you truly enjoy. Welcome to the fan club! :thumb:
