I've been playing Blade Runner (the adventure game) on Windows XP without any problems, but I've just entered the fourth act, and when I try to use the elevator in the sewers the game crashes. Tried running it in compatibility mode, and tried Turbo which fixed the shooting range, but no luck.
I read there was a patch but I haven't been able to find a working link. Found the patch on westwood's ftp, but still getting the crash. Anyone knows how to fix the problem?
(I'm running the 4 CD version)

Did you ever figure out what was wrong?
I have the exact same error. I've tried everything I can think of (patch, new hdframes.dat file, new game, etc) and it still won't work.

Interesting, I played the game a lot before (not on XP/Vista though) but didn't encounter this issue. I'm afraid the old patch doesn't adress this - maybe it's a problem related to modern CPUs, but if you have slowed your clock down for the shooting range to work, I don't know.
Consider asking for help here:

I figured out how to fix it.
I have DirectX 9.0c, so if you don't have the same version, this my not work for you.
Search for and run dxdiag.exe.
Open the "Display" tab.
Look for the button to right right of "DirectDraw Acceleration" and disable it.
Run game and enjoy.

Heureka!
(If I had time to tamper with the game again, I would get that idea myself, but thanks!) :sly:
