Some great pictures in there, especially the night ones.

I like the look you are trying to achieve. You have a few really nice shots in there. It does remind me of the nostalgic photographs you see in books. Definitely keep at it. :thumb:

I think the two of the Chrysler Building at night and the Pepsi skyline shot might have benefited from slightly longer exposure times, just to get some contrast with the sky and give a better sense of depth of frame and shape to the buildings. Moreso the skyline shot than the Chryslers. If you were shooting RAW it shouldn't be too difficult to tweak that.
Agreed with Scots about 36th and 7th being the best of the night shots. Grand Central and the Flatiron Building are my favourites of the daytime shots.

Thanks for the tips and comments. :)
36th and 7th is my fave of the night shots too, I had a very hard time taking pictures at night for this experiment as the automatic modes are not satisfying and the manual tweaking is not that easy, it's pretty much the only one that I got "right". I took a lot more that I just deleted on the spot, including with longer exposure time, that just didn't work.
34th and the first Bryant Park are washed out on purpose, although in retrospect I may have gone too far on the Bryant one. That saturday was very sunny though so contrary to the dusk ones and the syline taken the day before, I managed to get better results.
I'll definitely keep trying.
I can't shoot RAW, those were TIF originally, which is the closest to RAW my camera can handle (It's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7).
Here's another one I made, that was my first try at an old-style poster:

We sure have a nice view from the office! ;)

The poster is awesome, I love the lettering too - perfect fit. Does it have added grain or noise?

I didn't add any as far as I remember.

Raph, those pics are great. I'd just about swear they were taken back in the 30's or 40's.
There's something about b & w, if done right, that produces just beautiful images. Keep up the good work.:thumb:

The old ones and the new ones are all pretty sweet. The traffic ones are pretty neat.
I like the last one of the new three, especially the little tint of color from the street lamps. Really good stuff. :thumb:
