That's it, I'm leaving this forum - I can't stand your fapping to these horrible games anymore!
Somehow this is more satisfying than him being just outright banned.

You of all people should recognize obvious trolling.

Godspeed you brave soldier!
Hmm I should pick up bs2 next time it's on sale. I was one if the few people who didn't end up hating bs1 on release. I hAd my beefs (withe the biggest, the non optional vita chambers, actually getting patched out on first patch!) but once I took bs for what it was instead of looking for system shock 3, i enjoyed it. And I hear bs2 is basically more of the dsame, but better.
Edit: typing on the iPhone continues being annoying as FUCK

I've gotta say that I'm not enjoying this at all and have to force myself to keep going. The gameplay just doesn't do it for me - it's a boring arena shooter with nothing fresh or compelling about it. The skylines are ok, but the level design is quite mundane considering the setting - even the first two games in the series have this beat. I don't feel immersed in the world at all because there's nothing to interact with, no one to interact with... it's linear and dead, and while the idea of the setting is interesting, I never really feel like I'm in a city in the clouds. I suppose this has always been a problem with the series, but IMO the first two pulled the immersion off a bit better in this regard. The story started out being pretty interesting, but totally loses it for me by the time it gets to 'fetch this. Oh, it's not there? It'll be right through this tear. Oh, it's not there, either? Just go through this other tear!' etc.

You've hit the point where the game drags on froghawk. Unfortunately it doesn't get any better or any more interesting unless you like sudden nonsensical plot twists for the sake of plot twists. I was rather burnt out by the time fetch quests kicked in.

Ahaha I see what you mean. That ending sequence was certainly entertaining, but it made so little sense that I'm not even going to try to figure it out. Lots of cool plot ideas in this game, but none of them are fleshed out and they don't mesh at all.

And look, I'm only 1/3 of the way through the game but so far:
1) The plot makes fuck all sense. I'm caught in some bizarre animosity between two war veterans who I don't know anything about, being accused of things for which I have no context because somehow the history is revisionist, which is also not explained. Maybe I'm supposed to feel the character's confusion, but his comments lead me to believe he actually does know what they're talking about. Virtually impossible to identify with the MC because of this. Also there's a prophet, his dead wife and his daughter and no real narrative about why the hell she's captive or what exactly he expects her to do or save. And a giant robot bird. Okay, then. Hopefully it fleshes out better as it goes on but right now I get the sense that the writer (Ken) is trying so hard to be clever he's not being coherent. This was a problem in BS1 as well, and I expect more because SS2 wtf.
2) Linear to the point of boredom. Not nearly as predictable as Mass Effect, but just about as bad.
3) Skyrails, what the fuck? I can't tell where I am or where I'm going half the time - this is the most piss poor job I've ever seen of communicating to the player where they are in the gameplay space. Overhyped and underused and there's very little sense of connectivity between the various levels because the skyrails twist and turn so much I can't tell which direction I'm facing or if I'm going to make it to where I'm headed unless it's right in front of me. Note, this could be because I suck at games but ffs there had to be a better way of doing this.
3a) Why can my character jump 20 feet in the air to attach to a skyrail, yet cannot climb over a 2 ft. box. This shit has to stop. It makes me hate your game and your face because you jettison any normal sense of physics for silly tricks and eye candy. It's ridiculous and lazy. Stop it.
Hopefully it gets better but right now I'm kind of wanting to ditch it and go finish Diakatana. Fuck me. :(
p.s. Also yes, BS2 ftw.

To be fair Fett, your hook for those skyrails is magnetized, that's why you can jump that far (can't believe I'm rationalizing
that). I agree with all your points - mostly though that it's a boring, linear journey. I played for about 8 hours, but after the initial thrill of experiencing the setting of Columbia, I just lost interest and haven't gone back. I need more than what's BI is offering for my gaming urges.

Ouch, it's not that bad (or is it)?
