Bioshock Auto Patcher woes... - by Velasco

Hi all
(I hope this topic hasn't been talked to death already, but I have searched and couldn't really turn anything up relating to my particular situation)
I'm having trouble at the Auto Patcher stage of the BS installation. So far, I've ascertained that my Iexplorer proxy server settings need to be set up correctly, but I do not, nor have I ever, had any kind of proxy server settings set up on my system.
Not sure if I should pester my ISP about this, since my connection was set up under their guidance and I was specifically instructed not to mess with the proxy settings.

If you would get your hands on the Bioshock executable, you could kill the installation at that point and put the executable into that directory by hand.
A dirty solution, but seems to work for people testing bioshock on Wine.

Sorted! Just reboot Windows in Safe Mode with Networking. Installation went off without a hitch.
