There's also the part that it was in the break before they were meeting for dinner, like 5-7 pm, and he was noticed missing when he didn't come down. As I understand the psychology of that kind of thing, that's not the time you do something like that, when you have an immanent task coming up, just after work, and at that time of day, when you haven't had a chunk of time to mull over what you're going to do. And nobody mentioned the sorts of signs a person gives off before a pre-planned suicide, like getting some affairs in order, or the relief when you've made the decision. And you wouldn't tend to plan something like that during a job, on a short break before dinner, in a hotel in a foreign country. And again, it's a bit too elaborate for something that was completely unplanned and on the spur of the moment.
Damn ... I've been watching too much Criminal Minds. :p
