This thing actually got a little attention on the hourly NPR news update, and they actually mentioned that some people have conspiratorial-like concerns about the group in a manner that wasn't disdainful.
I thought that interest in this meeting was the sole territory of "wackos". Has something changed here?

Supposedly Alex Jones was arrested for trying to cover it:

This is the guy that infiltrated the Bohemian Grove, another meeting place for the elite.
Don't know what is going on, but the media should show a bit more interest.

Never heard of it before now - just read about it on wikipedia.
If a bunch of business leaders get together for informal talks, why wouldn't this be cause for interest and possible conspiracy theories (at a minimum collusion)?

The Bilderberg group or Bilderberg conference is an unofficial annual invitation only conference of around 130 guests, most of whom are persons of influence in the fields of business, academia, media, or politics.
Due to discussions by public officials and powerful business leaders (and others) being off-the-record, these annual meetings are the subject of much criticism (for circumventing the more typical democratic process of discussing issues openly and publicly) and numerous conspiracy theories.
The elite group meets annually, in secret, at exclusive, five-star resorts throughout the world, normally in Europe, although sometimes in the United States or Canada. It has an office in Leiden, South Holland, Netherlands.

We have it on good authority that's its all on the up & up, so no need to worry.

Wow, Eric Hufschmid is a huge tool. The leaps in logic, the misintepretations of what is actually said, and the amount of opinions taken as fact are amazing.

Downloaded a list of attendees at this years meeting through a conspiracy torrent page.
These Swedes attend; former PM Carl Bildt, future PM (?) Fredrik Reinfeld, Jacob Wallenberg (Chairman Investor AB) and Hans Stråberg (VD Electrolux).
Edit: List can be found here:
