OK, all the parts arrived today from Newegg, along with (conveniently) my used copy of Stalker from Ebay. It's going to be a fun night.

I've had great luck with newegg.
I built up a comp for $1,000 last year with my tax refund. Took about 4 hours to assemble (my first one) and it's been running like a champ.
I got an Antec 900 case

I'd recommend it to anyone. TONS of cooling, it's got like 5 fans, all large and QUIET! Liquid cooling optional. I'm sure the largest vid cards fit in it, but I only have a 7800 gts 512 mb.
I used all my rebates ($120 or so). Didn't know there were any warranty issues but I think I'm past that stage anyway and everythings running good.
The thing with the rebates is you have time to build your PC and make sure it runs good. After that I don't know how long the warranties are good for anyway. I usually by things and forget about warranties anyway, once you make it past a few months I think warranties get tough to claim.
Most warranties are only manufacturers defects, once you start installing components by yourself you are already getting into the 'is this warranty still good?" territory.

Hi Shwaa
just to update/correct you on the warranty into.
All products sold these days come with a minimum of 1 years warranty unless other specified, are you are within your rights to send the item back to the place of purchase, unless otherwise specified. And it dosent matter if the parts are fitted by you as the end user, the warranty still applies.
In the case of overclocked items, if it stops working because of that, its down to the manufacturer to prove that. Which is extremely hard to do and as most products allow a certain overclocking by default, the manufacturer dosent have a leg to stand on, they just have to confirm its faulty and replace.

Yeah, but warranties can be hard to claim when you need a receipt (like from a store), because the ink they print them with degrades within a month. So if you buy electronics, I'd suggest you photocopy the receipt just in case.

How long have you had the GTX260, as the HD4890 is out now and this would be a faster card - see Shockers build
Yeah, but there's always going to be
something better/faster. By the time I install that card, something else will come out.
Plus, it would knock my budget out of whack.
