Deuteronomy 13:12-18.
Looked it up, pretty hardcore. Most immoral passages in the bible are of a different nature, because it's usually god who does the actual killing.

The supposed justification for it, besides the land, has to do with the region's human rights violations--before they were called that. One religion cleaning out a decidedly much-fouler "Satanic" religion ("Belial" being a generalization). I'm sure someone more knowledgeable can shed some light on the subject.

And yet, you are still required to kill anyone who doesn't listen to a priest, witches, homosexuals, fortunetellers, children who hit or disrespect their parents, adulterers, fornicators, followers of other religions/nonbelievers, false prophets, girls who are not virgins on their wedding day, blasphemers, and people who work on the Sabbath. And none of these are 'God will strike you down', these are just examples of 'You must kill them yourself'.

Indeed. But nonetheless, the text is there.

Yep. And Christ's 2000-year-old teachings are ignored while the old testament is used to justify atrocities by people calling themselves followers of Christ.:nono: And those who try to follow Christ's teachings are given the former's reputation.:nono:

Yeah, this is something you Christians always try to do - "But all that bad shit is in the Old Testament; we're followers of the New!"
Fact is, the New Testament means fuck all without the Old Testament to contextualise and render meaning to it. Accept it all, or accept none, but don't try and pretend the two halves of the whole can be separated in any meaningful way.

Very well said.
Also, not targeted at anyone in particular:
