Weird, my performance was rather poor above 640 x 480. Either way, my point stands that there certainly are games that benefit on real hardware.
Also strange, I had no problems running EOTB 3 on DosBox via the GOG release. System Shock 1 ran fine for me too, but with somewhat poor performance at 640 x 480 (and above if you installed a fan patch).

Well EOTB 3 would run yes. But then there was audio issues. This was several years ago, so who knows. Maybe they've fixed it by now.
