For me these are the hardest creatures to fight. By the time I kill them I've lost so much strength that I can't move and sleeping doesn't seem to help to restore it. I've had to rely on bugs like getting him stuck in a door or using extremely valueble scrolls like "sammon golden saint". Is there any better way?

Far as i know is cold damage like frost spell or something. Im playing a character and it has 50% weakness to cold damage (bonewalker). You can try this dunno if that is true or not.
Good luck on your next bonewalkers...

Buy some restore strength potions/scrolls or get something enchanted with constant effect restore strength. Unsurprisingly you can use these after the fight's over to restore your strength back to where it was before the fight.

It really depends on your character level, and what type of weapons you prefer.
If you're a high-level character with Strength 100 and high weapons skills, a nice Daedric War Axe or a blunt weapon like Skullcrusher will chop him up in one shot.
However, I'm guessing that you're not a high level yet - otherwise Greater Bonewalkers wouldn't be handing you your ass. So, if you're a lower-level character, or prefer ranged weapons, or whatever, then I've got one word for you: "paralysis."
If you've got a decent Short Sword skills, and enough money or thieving skills, find a glass jinxblade. There are a lot of them - IIRC there's a persistant one at the armorer in the basement of the Tower of Dusk, Ghostgate. If you don't have enough money or Sneak to steal that one, go to the Balmora Fighter's guild and buy a Dwemer Jinxblade off the bald Redguard. (This is, assuming that your short sword skill is high enough).
In any event, paralysis in any form makes all monsters fightable. It won't work every single time, on every single strike, and you should always have a separate weapon to hit them with AFTER they're paralyzed (because they can "resist" the second strike with the paralysis weapon, which also nullifies their current paralysis, and they can move again).
So, yeah - finding something that paralyzes opponents is my advice.

Yeah paralyze is a good source too even with a weapon, but at least you gonna do some damage even if you dont paralyze. Tho short blades prob have the fastest speed around (can do alotta attack per round).
BTW wait til assassins mess with you around lvl 20+ they should have that daedric wakizashi (short blade), does 10-30 damage and weight alot 30lbs. Becareful dont get slain by those assassins.

Jeese. The best thing to do is summon bound dagger! Muhahaha. Seriously. I have a short blade skill of 30, and unarmored skill of 30. I have some plain robes and stuff on(the only magical stuff is my magic shoes WWND(what would nerevar do?) which walk on water) The answer to all problems is POTIONS!

I just use a dadric bow. They are easy enough to steal if you got the fletcher shop official mod.
