best way to get out of the sewers in Paris. - by tripwood

i've been trying to in my game, but i keep getting beaten like a ragged doll. the place where two sewer holes are available, and mj12 troups are right at the exit of one.
what's the best way to get out of there relatively OK? i tried to use a scrambler grenade on one of those huge bots, but it lasts for like 3 second before wearing off. tried to snipe the guards from the ladder, but i usually get rocketed before i can.
how do you usually do it yourself?

Open the locked sewer cover (lockpicks, LAM, rockets), then wait below until the bots arrive. Toss a scrambler grenade straight up -- it should bounce beside one of bots, and the effect should be long enough that you can take out the survivor with one or two sabot rounds. Timing and aim are critical.
Or you can just wait until you hear both bots retreating -- there's no real need to take out the bots or MJ12 troops unless you'd prefer to.
Another fun thing to do: Once the bots are dealt with, throw objects or use the spy drone to attract troopers to the open sewer. Takes a while, but eventually they'll start falling in, one by one ...

I, as Catman, said, sneak up as they leave. I then just pick a few off with the sniper rifle/GEP Gun and work my way around the map.
btw, make sure to snipe off the guy with the LAW early. It gets pretty ugly otherwise ;)

I turn on the cloak and just run past the guards, then get cover and let them cool down.

ah, i didn't know sabot rounds damaged bots. i never use shotguns, don't like em much.
i went with Amorpheus' idea, cloaked and hid in the security outpost, and disactivated the bots. then i used a smoke grenade and head-shotted easy.
that's the hardest part i've had to deal with as of to date, i think deus ex is almost too easy, and i'm at normal. to say i had to cheat to make it at easy the first time.. :tsktsk:

you dont have to kill those guards if you dont want to, you can just wait in the sewer for the bots to face away from the sewer entrance, then cloak and run into the booth where you can turn off the bots. then run past the guards towards the hostel or the night club,

i don't like to see MJ12 soldiers live. i stun every soldier from local militia, nsf or unatco, but MJ12 don't get off so easy.
besides, avoiding enemies in Deus Ex has a nasty habit of finding yourself getting attacked without knowing why, only because they spotted you across the entire screen.
